This a serious question. It's really really impressive how Pakistan managed to produce such a good player of spin.

Saud shakeel is a natural against spin and it's the sole reason why he has been so good on Asian soil. I firmly believe Pakistan will be unstoppable at home if spinning wickets are curated primarily thanks to him, since he's the only batter in our unit who doesn't struggle against spin.

Klaseen on the other hand i firmly rate as the best spin basher on the planet and while I believe he punishes spinners, something saud shakeel doesn't do, I rate both these 2 batters equally when it comes to playing spin?

Another name that comes to mind is Steve smith who in his prime absolutely dominated spin but since 2020 has fizzled out a little bit.

Currently? Don't know.

The best I've seen? Tendulkar, Lara, A. Flower. All 3 of them equally as good as each other. Will never forget the reverse sweeps Andy Flower used to play. It was a delight watching him play them.

Bhai, let Sachin, lara and flower rest. The standards of past test batters are massively >>>>>>> The ones of today.

Steve smith is on par from 2014-2020 only. Otherwise I can't think of any test batting great that has showed up these past years.

Even Williamson is a bit of a test inflater. Root is good but he isn't known for spin bashing or his spin play.

Brooks is a certified pace bully in test.

Yea, Smith is really good against spin. Joe Root as well, but not as much as Smith. The real test of a player outside of the subcontinent against spin come in to show when they play in India and Sri Lanka. It's ridiculously difficult specially to play spin in India.

By the way, I still remember a thread on PP being created when Smith had barely played 10-15 Tests asking whether he is the worst Aussie cricketer of all time. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

In this era nobody really stands out. We are used to players like Younis and Inzi in the past who negotiated Murali well, Indians have their own stories about negotiating Warne.

Now almost all players are sitting ducks against spin.

Sadly I agree with the others that overall quality against spin has gone down. Some of the older legends were true geniuses against quality spin.

If I have to pick Smith is probably the best in this generation.

Root is decent too and was excellent in Sri Lanka but not as dominant in India.

Saud was one of them but he fell prey to a spinner today. Warrican removed him and a good catch from Roach.

He was looking against spinners before he played that stupid shot.

steven smith and rizwan are possibly the best player against spin
Hain? Steve smith khaan ka aur rizwan khaan ka.

Saud plays spin way better then rizwan, let's not compare him to Steve smith who's easily one of aus's greatest players of spin all time.

I'd put Travis head and Steve smith on this list as well
You’d put Travis head in your will too!

The fact is he is a mediocre batsman against spin, something which he should learn from Navjot Sidhu.

Sidhu was a nightmare for bowlers like Muralidharan and Warne.

He is in my will. My will to torment india and he's a huge factor in that.

Get rid of your hate for Travis bhai. Il he's robbed india of 3 memorable moments but when he's retired, I'll play you highlights to torment you more. 🤣🤣🤣

Smith and Travis should be no 1
Post 2020 Smith has failed in Asian conditions, before that he was great.

Only talking about performances post 2020, Head is **** poor against spin, he has failed in all his tours to the subcontinent plus UAE, the only time he scored a respectable 90 was when it was the flattest Patta where only 3 innings completed in 5 days.

He averages 29 vs Ind, Pak, Srl away from home

He is horrible against spin bowling, has one fifty in Asia on a patta. You are a blind worshiper.

An onsong head is unstoppable plain and simple. You either get him out early or game over. He's the best player in the world when in the zone.

@mominsaigol

Could be an absolute fluke but one player who Is good vs spin and wasn't mention here in this thread is will young.

India under performed in that series without some key players missing and as usual the useless old trifecta cockroaches just wouldn't be dropped. In saying that a guy who stood tall and was hard to displace was will young.
