Kohli vs Rahul vs Gill vs Hitman

Probably between the above mentioned 4 currently

The talented tag only belongs to one and only one and it is his forever..

Our Sharma Ji Ka Ladka :11:

Due respect to Pujara, Rahane, Shaw, Dhawan, Pant they are all very good but it's quite clear the above mentioned 4 are at another level

Rohit Sharma.

3 double hundreds in OD , when on song , the shots he plays , no one can. He is absolute carnage , when set.

Assuming, Talent = Innate Ability

1. Rohit Sharma
2. KL Rahul
3. Shubhman Gill
4. Virat Kohli

Kohli and Gill are extremely talented but the reason for their success is that they simply have superior work ethics, atleast Kohli till now. Gill obviously has long way to go.

My opinion :-

1. KL Rahul
2. Shubhman Gill
3. Rohit Sharma
4. Virat Kohli

K L Rahul is arguably the greatest batting talent since Tendulkar. I stick by this opinion.

Blaspehmous Bhaijaan.
Tendulkar was doing things to bowlers at the age of 18-19 which no one can. He was Talent + Hardwork.

But Rahul, I agree, when in full flow is marvellous.

But I will still stick by Sharma Ji Ka Ladka.

Talent is subjective and ridiculously overused word.
It is irrelevant unless applied to produce results (Runs and Wickets)

It is true however that Hitman is the only batsman in world cricket who has the #GodMode

Kl rahul and Sharma can't play swing and seam to save their lives.

Gill doesn't have the fifth gear.

Kohli is the most complete batsman but he can't bat like devilliers or buttler, also doesn't have every shot in his book.

So, this leaves........ :yk Pant

The only problem with Pant is temperament.

You have to categorise it into formats, overall it is Kohli.

Tests: Gill

ODIs: Kohli

T20Is: Rahul

Rohit is easy on eyes like Mark Waugh or Damien Martyn. Core raw talent per se I would vote for Pant in current team. None of the above 4 created the impact that Pant created is doing now @ 22-23.

Kohli and Gill are more complete and suitable to any format or pitch IMO.

Has to be KLR. Lara shares this opinion.

Absolutely aggravates me where he is with his career with the skills he has.

Lol how is Rohit when he can't score away from home ? He cannot play on bouncy pitches or on swinging conditions.

I would say now it is Shubhman Gill. Of course he hasn't been tested properly yet in swinging conditions, although he made a sparkling double hundred and another hundred in the A tour to NZ last year.

Pure talent wise, right now Gill.

He will be a monster in tests and Odis.

T20s he needs to get better at power hitting.

KL has destroyed his technique and now his mindset.

It was painful to see him bat so selfishly in IPL.

Has to get back to his old self.

He is the closest to a perfect all format batsman in modern Era if he gets back to his old self.

Gill is superior to KL is certain aspects but inferior in power game, tightness and versatality.

----

Hitman is an outrageous hitter but he has a ton of other weaknesses.

Kohli is the most optimized batsman out of all of them.

Tho off late, he has been a bit impactless in Lois regardless of the stats.

Its ridiculous how much talent Indian team has and yet they keep choking in all LOI tourneys due to atrocious leadership and poor planning.

A decent captain and we will likely clinch the 2023 WC.

Pant = Heart

Lion hearted fellow.

Which 10Xes his talent (as amazing as that is).

At the end of the day, talent is all good but output matters.

Overall it will be a battle between KL and Gill.

Others ain't as good as these 2.

Rahul is an insane talent but uptil now he has always faltered whenever he faced lateral movement.
We all know that this happened bcoz of ipl and his own choice of preferring lois over test but he needs to iron out the flaws otherwise he will be called a FTB.
His away numbers are as bad as Sharma.

He was a monster in green tracks in Ranji.

Scored centuries in seamers to dust bowls... You name it.

He wasn't like what he is now.

The current KL is a shadow of who he really was.

Steyn (in his peak) raved about him in 2013.

I agree with you, that's why i said all this happened bcoz of changes he made to adapt to limited overs cricket.
The problem now is that although he succeeded in improving his shot making abilities his game for test cricket is in shambles.

But now atleast he is a permanent member of our lois team that will surely give him some confidence.

1. Pant - natural talent
2.Gill-hard worker +talent
3.virat kohli-hard worker+talent
4.Hitman-most talent
5.Kl Rahul-stroke maker
6. Hardhik pandya- power hitter

Most talented - shaw pant Sarfaraz khan sanju samson yashashshwi jaiswal
Gifted - sharma and rahul , pandya and jadeja
Hardwork - Kohli pujara gill Agarwal sundar

Talent here implies ability , intrinsic but lack of a finesse or final touch to make it called as a gift
Gifted here implies intrinsic ability plus talent plus Midas touch coupled with modest hard work
Hardwork implied some talent but excess determination

Sadly players go through this route and end up permanently damaging their technique.

Hope KL is not one of them.

He still has it in him to play properly as evidenced in 2017 Aus series.

Kohli is the most talented. He was brought into the India team at a very young age just based on talent. His FC avg wasn't that great. There were many with better records. He just took his batting to the next level with extreme dedication and drive. It's not that Kohli can't play like Rohit. He chooses not to. He's a master of probabilities and percentages. Once in a while you see him in full flow like in the ODI series in SA and one home series vs AUS where he scored hundreds at will with outrageous strokes

There is something very appealing about Gill's batting.

It's soothing, almost relaxing, the way he effortlessly strokes the ball around the ground.

A great combination of timing, skill and power.

Rohit has most time to play the stroke, Rahul at Rohit’s age will he not sure.

Hope Gill has more hunger though
