Will the selectors go for the same again? Who would be in your squad?

There's been no reason to change anything at all. Same squad, same team, and the same useless middle order will have to do.

According to reports in the media, a source within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that the Board had nothing to do with the return of Shaheen Shah.

“The selectors have yet to decide which formation will be pitted against West Indies in the short series in the first half of June. Neither we have asked Shaheen to return nor have we communicated to others to stay back in England. Since there has been no decision on the formation of the team for the series as yet, no player has been communicated on his participation in the team. Only selected players currently playing County Cricket will be asked to join the camp"

KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain and the star all-rounder Shahid Afridi has backed the 2017 Champions Trophy winning captain Sarfaraz Ahmed to be given the chance if his counterpart Mohammad Rizwan gets rested for the upcoming home series against West Indies.

While speaking on a local news show about Pakistan’s upcoming home series against a depleted West Indian side, Afridi claimed that Sarfaraz deserves a chance if Rizwan is rested.

In response to a question from the hosts about Rizwan’s workload and the opportunity for Pakistan to test their bench strength, Afridi endorsed former captain Sarfaraz and called him the second-best viable alternative.

“Sarfaraz should be given a chance if the selection committee selects him for the series. If Rizwan is rested and Sarfaraz is in the squad then I believe Sarfaraz deserves to play,” Afridi said.

“Sarfaraz is the second-best choice in my opinion, and if he is a member of the squad, he should be given the opportunity first. I believe we should treat a player with this level of respect,” he added.

Afridi also opined about the possibility of young wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Haris making his ODI debut and being the second wicket-keeping option for Pakistan after Rizwan by saying “It is too early for Haris.”

“Why are we in such a hurry for Haris? Let him play,” Afridi concluded.

Afridi is absolutely brainless. Hope the rumours about him being anywhere near an admin role are false because he clearly has no vision for the future. Why should a past it Sarfraz be selected when we can groom Haris as the next WK? It is this silly thinking that made us lose so many years of Rizwan’s price whilst we had Adnan and Sarfraz wasting the WK spot.

Oh man it's 2022 and that sarfraz Ahmed is still in team he should have been dumped 5 years ago but somehow we always see him with squad.
He has got some serious connections.Afridi is not the brightest tool in the shed and it shows with his statements.

Its all about friendship. Normal human behavior

There's been matches where both Sarfraz & Rizwan have played and it's been a disaster. Sarfraz is simply not good anymore and should not be selected. It is as simple as that.

I would honestly prefer both Haris & Azam over him at this point if Rizwan is being rested, which he should be.

Sarfraz barely makes it into a PSL team at this point, we really need to move on from him and try new talent like Haris.

Thank you for everything you've done for Pakistan cricket Sarfraz, but it's time to retire from international cricket.

Which is exactly why he would be brainless as a PCB selector/administrator. Its important for someone in this role to be impartial. No sifarish and no friendship.

My squad I will drop Saud Shakeel if Rizwan is in the squad as they both similar players can't play both in the same line up.Zahid should definitely be dropped alongside Asif Ali

Sixty cricketers will attend the conditioning camp at the National High Performance Centre (NHPC) in Lahore in two different groups from Sunday.

First group of 27 cricketers will attend the camp from 15-25 May, while the second group comprising 33 cricketers will participate in the camp from 26 May to 10 June. Players featuring in the English County Championship have been exempted from these camps.

Pakistan squad for the ODI series against the West Indies will be announced on 23 May and those selected for the 8,10 and 12 June matches will attend the training camp, presently scheduled in Rawalpindi, from 1 June.

Shaan and Haris need to be given a go here. The WI squad is severely depleted and they haven't been that good at full strength either. Plus, home-ground advantage. Dahani and Naseem on the bowlers side should slide in.
