Who should be the fourth bowler for Pakistan's second Test against Australia ?

Is this thread about Yasir Shah retaining his spot or about the 3rd pace option?

We know rahat will play the 2nd Test, so I'm assuming you are referring to whether Yasir Shah should be dropped and the answer is a resounding NO.

The question is 'Who SHOULD' be the fourth bowler - Amir, Wahab and Yasir are obviously considered certainties.

Then the thread title should be renamed to "Who should be the 3rd pacer?".

Unless, it is maybe playing a 2nd spinner or 3rd pacer, then this is an appropriate title.

There are five other bowlers in the squad besides those three, and one of them will play. Why make it complicated? It's a poll. Perhaps someone wants us to play two spinners.

I missed the poll, so guilty on that part.

I saw the thread title and assumed, the OP meant dropping Yasir and that would be a bad decision.

Don't think dropping Yasir at the MCG would be a good idea.

On topic, would go with Sohail and give him a bigger workload in the first innings and then pray that he can somehow bowl a few half-decent overs in the second.
 
Imran Khan.

I don't like the idea of playing Sohail Khan and realizing you'll be using a half-fit bowler in the 2nd innings.

Rahat Ali is a disaster and a 2nd spinner doesn't make sense.
 
Imran Khan. Not because he is a good bowler. He is average; But he is better than Sohail Khan. Sohail has fitness issues. Not to mention he was just ill recently.
 
Poll needs more options.

Rahat is obviously the first bowler, Wahab the second, Yasir the third so I guess Amir would be the fourth?

Not great, but also better than average.

Ave 26 in international Test cricket having bowled mostly in the UAE to either Oz, England or NZ.

If you keep playing the guy who ave 37 instead of him you have only yourself to blame.

Imran is good in UAE, but he will be average in Australia.
 
It's obvious you can't pick half fit bowlers so that leaves Sohail out.

It's a toss of the coin between Rahat and Imran.

Let's see what they decide.

Sohail khan because of his batting and first inning ability. 2nd inning will be yasirs show. Imran khan cant hold a bat.

Agreed.

We can't afford to have half fit bowlers bowling 110 KPH pies in the crucial 2nd innings.

Imran Khan is a workhorse and has the skills for reverse-swing bowling plus he is a tall, line and length bowler who is often economical so I think Amir, Yasir, Wahab and Imran should be our attack for the 2nd test.

Why does he expect Sohail to improve at the age of 35-ish?

Not everyone is like Misbah himself.

Sohail will surely leak runs heavily in 3rd and 4th spells unless we use him in very short bursts
