1.Viv Richards
2.Wasim Akram
3.Sachin Tendulkar
4.Kapil Dev
5.Virat Kohli

In my view Kapil Dev was the l best O.D.I.allrounder ever.Viv the best match-winner overall being the most explosive .Wasim posessed the greatest skill with the ball and was the best one day all-rounder at his peak.Tendulkar was consistency personified.Virat was the ultimate architect of wins in a run chase.

Amazing how India have all these greats but only won as many world cups as Brad Hogg.

Funnily enough a team that has won 5 out of 11 WCs have no one is a blasphemy.

Mine would be

Viv
Gilchrist
McGrath
Tendulkar
Wasim

Dhoni> Virat anyday as a cricketer.

Architect of run chase??Is that really a parameter.

This . No offence but India has one of the worst records out of the top nations if not the worst when it comes to the international game yet they always seem to push for their cricketers to be included in these lists . Rewriting histoty on forums.
Need to be more realistic .

Wasim akram (GOAT)
Viv richards (GOAT)
Ricky ponting
Shane warne (GOAT)
Adam Gilchrist

1.Viv Richards
2.Wasim Akram
3.Sachin Tendulkar
4.Kapil Dev
5.Virat Kohli

Putting Kohli as the top 5 batsmen in history of ODI will be stretching it a bit at this moment. Your list is not even about simply batsmen here.

Dhoni should be among the top 3 list of ODI cricketers. Arguably the best ODI captain, among the top 2 finishers in history of ODI and a keeper. Hard to find more valuable ODI cricketer.

Best in their respective roles.

Viv
Wasim
Tendu
Mcgrath
Bevan

Best ODI off spinner ever - saqlain mushtaq

Sachin
Sir Viv
Kohli
Akram
Bevan
Jayasuriya
Gilchrist
Dhoni
Saqlain
Pollock

Sorry couldnt select the best 5 . It was quite difficult to leave out Jayasuriya , Gilchrist, Saqlain who revolutionised their respective fields in their times !

Sachin
Viv
Mcgrath/murali
Wasim
Dhoni
Sachin and viv within touching distance of each other for being the goat.
Wasim the bowler with most number of tricks in bag and probably the best.
Mcgrath very economical and consistent wicket taker making him complete package.
Murali as he competes with saqlain and warne for this spot. His longevity is far more than other two and all of them were probably equivalent as bowlers in odis.
Dhoni best finisher world has seen. An upgraded version of bevan with ability to smash bowlers and handle pressure.

Gilchrist should stay far away from this list.

Dhoni
Viv
Sachin
McGrath
Murali

You and your statement do not appear to be grounded in reality and facts. For the last 25 years, india has been in the top four most successful cricket teams, and if discounting for non test playing sides, ahead of Pakistan too.

In ODI world cups, India is pretty decent.

Overall in ODI India is 4th (win to lose ratio)

I would say:

Viv Richards: All-round best, ahead of his time, big match player

Tendulkar: Clearly best of the players of his time, and long career to justify

Wasim: Best ODI paceman, ideally suited to any stage of the game

Bevan: Best finisher I have seen, against great attacks to boot.

Last one is either Dhoni (great finisher and best ODI captain) or Gilchrist (Worldclass keeper and amazingly effective batsman)

The list would probably comprise entirely of Australians, and Michael Bevan would be on the top of it.

How about?

Viv
Wasim Akram [GOAT ODI cricketer]
Jayasuriya
Ponting (Instead of SRT, why not?)
MSD

Might change Ponting or Jayasuriya with Virat (at end of his career).

Sachin

Pollock
