As Pakistan prepare to face South Africa in the upcoming two-match Test series, there’s a lot to look forward to — and a lot of questions waiting to be answered.

With matches scheduled in Lahore and Rawalpindi, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of pitches Pakistan decide to produce. Most expect spin-friendly tracks, which could certainly bring Noman Ali and Sajid Khan into play. If the surfaces grip, these two could have a major say in the outcome.
There are also youngsters like Faisal Akram waiting in the wings — a left-arm spinner who could be an exciting wildcard if given a chance. Pakistan will want to maximize home advantage, but the big question is: can our batters handle Keshav Maharaj if South Africa play to their own spin strengths?
With the bat, the last few Test assignments saw Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan stand up against England and Bangladesh. Can they continue that form here? And what about Babar Azam — will he rediscover his best touch in this home series?
Then there’s Salman Ali Agha, who’s struggled recently in T20s — will that dip in white-ball form spill over into red-ball cricket?
A lot of factors to weigh up, and a lot of players with a point to prove.
So, who do you think will be Pakistan’s standout performers with bat and ball against South Africa?
Can the team turn their WTC campaign around at home?
