A few contenders and not necessarily from the top 5! So who will be the highest goal scorer in the EPL for 2019/20?

Salah is one fire atm. He could easily score over 23 goals.

Augero has to be the favourite but ill go with the Egyptian King, got to back this LFC legend.

Henry and Shearer are the only players to have fun this award 3 times in a row. If Salah wins it this year he will match that record and be one short of matching the record of most golden boot wins which is currently held by Henry.

Considering Salah’s selfishness in front of goal, the amount of chances Liverpool creates and FA’s special blessings on Liverpool, he is certainly the favorite to win it.

However, I am hoping that Mane can somehow beat him to it. He is Liverpool’s best attacking player and a proper team player like Firminho.

If Salah wasn’t so greedy in front of goal, both Mane and Firminho would score more goals than they do now.

Salah is a fantastic player, but he is too individual and arguably more replaceable for Liverpool than Van Dijk, Mane, Alisson, TAA and Firminho.

If someone puts a gun to Klopp’s head and forces him to sell one of his big stars, he would probably pick Salah.

It is important to distinguish between joint-winners and those who are standing alone at the top.

Shearer and Henry didn’t share the golden boots with anyone when they won three in a row.

Salah couldn’t outscore Aubameyang last season in spite of playing for a far better team and starting more matches.

He may as well win three golden boots in a row, but one of them will be shared and thus his achievement is not comparable to that of Shearer and Henry.

Ings was denied a clear penalty against Liverpool, so he should be still ahead of Salah with 15 goals.

Considering that he is the hunt for the golden boot, Ings would have definitely taken the penalty.

Ward Prowse is an excellent set play specialist. He may have taken it.

Liverpool were also denied a penalty with that foul on Firminho right on the line. Salah would've taken that one.

A golden boot is a golden boot. Currently, Salah has 2 in a row. That's all that matters in the end.

Mo won’t win it this year - by April, the EPL should be sealed and my hunch is Klopp will start to rest him for CL & FA cup if we are still in those. If Athletico knocks Liverpool out of CL, May be then Klopp will target records like highest points in an EPL season, unbeaten league champions, highest goal scored/difference etc.

I think, it’ll be Kun at the end. ManCity are the soccer version for flat track bully and they will blast lower ranked teams by 5/6 goals with Aguero scoring lot, if he remains fit.

So back to this topic - who will be the top scorer?

Jamie Vardy wins Premier League Golden Boot despite final day disappointment

Jamie Vardy won the Premier League Golden Boot for the first time in his career on Sunday despite a poor end to the season for Leicester City that saw them miss out on the Champions League.

England forward Vardy, 33, became the oldest player to win the award for the league's top scorer after netting 23 goals, one more than Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Southampton's Danny Ings.

With Chelsea ensuring a top four finish with a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Vardy drew a blank as the Foxes failed to gain the win against Manchester United that they needed to leapfrog Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side into the top four.

Vardy came closest for Leicester in Sunday's 2-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium when he hit the bar on the hour mark.

Ederson took the Golden Glove award for the most clean sheets after Manchester City's 5-0 win over relegated Norwich took him to 16 for the season.

He finished one ahead of Burnley stopper Nick Pope, whose team suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Brighton.
