With the title-deciding Abu Dhabi GP coming up, will Nico Rosberg hold his nerve, or will Lewis Hamilton seal one of sport's greatest comeback victories?

Hopefully Lewis will engage Hammer Time once more this season.

As expected, Rosberg's consistency was enough for him to take the title.

Hamilton achieved more poles and wins then Rosberg who ended up on top in the end.

I think there should be a system where for the top 3 or 4 there is a bigger emphasis on race wins when it comes to title pursuits. what do you guys think?

Race wins should be the pivotal factor which decides a champion, in the case where equal number of races have been won then we should look at who has achieved the most points.

TBH, F1 isn't just a one on one battle with drivers, the amount of money, resources, personnel and expertise put into the vehicles is arguably more important than the differences on the track. Have to remember that this is the same scoring system in which Lewis has won 3 titles on, perhaps he was a bit unlucky but it was really marginal and hopefully he'll go one better again next year.

I agree with that and I understand the intricate science/engineering expertise which goes into the cars which is astonishing btw! that's why I wanted to meet in the middle and have the race wins rule applied to title contenders but it probably won't be practical to implement it. Yeah, hopefully he wins next year.

Nico pretty much had the title in the bag going into the last few weeks by virtue of his healthy lead. From there onwards, all he needed to do was play it safe, so credit to both of them for playing all the right cards towards the end.

Really fine margins, but ultimately Lewis can sleep well knowing he left nothing to chance as engine failures also dented his hopes, which meant he was always swimming against the tide at the back end of the season.

Formula 1 is a championship which revolves around consistency, just like football.

Alonso wouldn't have been in the title fight in 2012 and Raikkonen as a dark horse in a Lotus or Rosberg in 2014 with Hamilton. Schumacher in 2003 would have won the championship easily against Kimi Raikkonen who took a year old car to the end with 1 win and losing the championship by 2 points.

It would in fact ruin quite a lot of title fights which the sport has enjoyed.

So Hamilton won 1 more race than Rosberg, I don't think he's entitled to the championship because of this. Hamilton had some shockers early in the season which cost him points, he won the last 4 races while all Rosberg had to do was play it safe.

The points system was already changed in 2010 to give the winner more of a reward compared to the others and has had the highest percentage of points gain compared to second.
