Mexico have already beat one big team when they surprised Germany 1-0 but their performance against Sweden was shocking. I just have a slight feeling they will knock Brazil out, so rather surprisingly, I have actually voted for Mexico. Who do you think will win?

I am with you (Though a Brazil fan) - Mex are one of the biggest underachievers of Soccer, never even made the SF, only 2 QFs at home both times, but they are far more skilled than that record.

Mexico is like Yugoslavia of Latin America - it's time to fix history for both (Croats represent part of old Yugoslavia).

3-1 to Brazil :( though - that's head & heart both telling.

Vote for Brazil in the poll then. I'm going for a cheeky 1-0 victory for Mexico :)

Brazil seem to be coming into form. Especially Neymar. I'll go with Brazil.

I think Brazil's attack won't survive Mexico's attack specially with Marcelo potentially out injured. An aged defence and against paceful attack. There's only one winner there. Mexico 2-0 Brazil.

You mean Brazil's defense.

Bro, there is a reason they have won 5 WCs, and 3 teams have won it 13 times out of 20 - these are soccer elites, get the job done when it matters. Since 1930, only decade Brazil didn't win a WC was with arguably their best ever team - that 1982 & 1986 team; they are due one in this decade :(

Brazil have qualified for every WC, and if I can recall correctly, only once was eliminated before QF - 1990 V Argentina, another soccer elite. Mex has the players for sure - Vela, Chicharito, Lozano and Jiminez are fantastic forward line (Harnadez's scoring record is too good for a West Ham player), but my hunch is, they'll miss some golden opportunity and frustrate themselves; Brazil'll hit back later.

Won't vote - I haven't voted in this WC, apart from the big ticket item, France winning it. Though, I myself don't believe in Deschamp's team, but that squad is absolute cracker - only if Arsene took the charge after EURO 2016, instead of embarrassing himself at Emeritus.

Nah I don't think Brazil will win. I think there defense is definitely not that strong and midfield is convincing. Sure there attack is amazing but I reckon Mexico can take them. I think there fluent attack will be too much for the Brazilians.

Brazil's midfield is arguably best in this WC -

Casemiro
Renato Augusto
Coutinho
Paulinho
Fernandinho
Fred
Willian

Apart from one, rest were active till late May for MU, MCity, Real, Barca & Chelsea - each and everyone has played more CL game than probably entire Mexican team has combined.

Their CB defense pair is Silva & Marquinhos/Luis/Miranda - PSG/PSG/Athletico/Inter and they start every game.

For many, many years, probably since Gilmar, they have a GK, who is chased by Real, Barca, PSG, Liverpool, MU - the guy is good enough to keep Ederson on bench, for whom Pep paid $52mn!!!! And, had that forward kid Jesus could sort his radar, by now could have been a contender for Golden Boot.

This is a fantastic, fantastic Brazilian side, but soccer game isn't won on papers. Mex are also great Latin side, they can compete in ball skills, their defense was in shambles against Swedish high ball, but against Brazil they can compete on grass.

It all depends on who keeps cool and takes the chance - even Germany failed to do so yesterday, while another day, they might have been 4-0 winners. On individual playing merit, apart from France, and may be Belgium - any other existing team don't even stand in same frame, might not even Spain.

I don't remember MU chasing Allison. Anyway I get what your saying but I don't have confidence in Brazil's defense despite what you have said I do think Mexico will trouble them. I still think Mexico will knock them out. They may play for some good teams but with majority of there defense in the 30's I don't think they have the engined to keep up with the Mexican's attack.

Let's see - won't mind Mexico. Good people and great food.

If De Gea leaves for Real, Allison will be 1st choice for JoMou. Roma is in serious financial crisis and only other lucrative replacement is Oblak, who has a release clause of $125mn - if he leaves Athlatico, only place to go in PSG. Ter Stagen is at Barca while Courtoise either will go back to Spain or stay at London.

De Gea I don't see leaving specially the way he's currently playing for Spain so far. Also Allison is closing in on joining Real Madrid which will likely be announced as soon as the world cup is over. Courtois is leaving likely with PSG leading the pack. If De Gea does leave, Oblak should be first choice but IF he leaves. Ter Stegen is staying at Barca

Hopefully Mexico can knock out Brazil so we can see some tears from Neymar

Today started bad with one No. 1 team and after Germany’s loss in updated table Brazil should be no. 1 now - getting a bit nervous to be honest. I desperately wanted Poms to beat Belgium or Brazil draw with Serbia or France to lose against Denmark - now my 3 teams are in same half of draw and Spain is also out. England has almost a clear path after Colombia.

As it happened - 2 goals clear margin, which I think is a fair result. Mexicans should have scored in first 20 minutes, but they were too concerned about putting own name in WC score sheet against Brazil.

Mexican goal keeper was superb throughout the tournament.. well played..
