An academic exercise for now which could turn out to be a real one should the PCB be able to schedule the remaining games of the tournament - but, humour us all by telling us who amongst the 4 semi-finalists was the team which could have won the tournament.

Karachi vs Lahore final in Lahore.

I think it's still a possibility if PSL continues with old format

Zalmi would have lifted the trophy by overcoming Qalandars in the final.

Probably Peshawar Zalmi or Karachi Kings.

The overrated Multan relied a lot on Roussouw who wasn't there anymore. On a decent wicket their bowling would have been toothless as well.

Peshawar had the best local players (Kami, Malik, Wahab, Umar Amin, Haider Ali, Hasan Ali etc.) and Karachi Kings had their foreign players + a decent bowling line up.

I feel that the Zalmi fans won't mind this as the team will be even stronger next year with the inclusion of Kieran Pollard and co.

One feels that Lahore Qalandars were growing in confidence so it could well have been them!

Lol at overrated Multan. Go back and check the posts, no one gave them a chance before the tournament. Yet they topped the table and lost only one game plus the last one where they just let the bench guys play. How is that overrated?

Russouw scored one century and won Multan the game. He barely contributed apart from that. So 1 performance in 10 games and multan had no chance without him...

So much rubbish in your post.

In old format, most likely KK v LQ Final with KK winning it. In this format, KK winners in an one sided Final against Multan.

This KK side is much better than average PSL teams. It’s the foreigners who are the game changer is PSL and KK has four foreigners in Hales, Delport, Walton & Jordan, at their peak (early 30s) and all four of them are/would have been starter for their national team (Delport definitely would have played for SAF without Kolpak). Add to that, top 4/5 PAK internationals - SK, Babar, Imad, Amir, Rizwan, Iftikhar ...... former fringe players like Yamin, Awais, Waqas and future PAK players like Umer, Usama, Arshad .... it’s almost an uneven contest.

Ideally, KK should have won at least 10 of the possible maximum 12 games.

It couldn't have been a KK v LQ final because they were playing in the semis!!

I personally felt it would have been KK lifting the trophy

After Roussouw went out they started to struggle to score runs. Got lucky a few games got washed out otherwise sides like KHI, Zalmi would have had even more points.

I can understand that you love the Sultans, but got to stay objective when answering queries like these.

You're asking me to stay objective when you have quoted non-factual things like 'when Russouw went out, they struggled to score runs' despite the fact that I've already proven he only really scored in one match. I'd argue that Lahore losing Lynn or Karachi losing Hales was a much bigger loss for the respective teams.

If KHI and Zalmi had both won the washed out games against Multan (which is far from an objective guarantee given how much better Multan were during the group games) they still would not have had more points than Multan.

So please, stop acting like you're objective when you cannot even post a logical argument for your sweeping statements.

Multan Sultans --- the bowling attack Irfan, Tahir, Illi, Afridi, Tahir, Moeen, Khushdil was pure mastery. Was sad for them to lose Vince and Rilee but big Mo and Khush would have stepped up to the plate #DataWinning

If they played with full-strength squads (i.e all foreign players available) it would have been Multan Sultans but considering the departure of foreign players, Karachi Kings would have won.

But they finished last, need to qualify for play-offs at least :inti

Islamabad only needed to win the last game, had they won the last game they were booked for the play offs.

they lost the last game cause ronchi and co had left.
