Why are Pakistan not playing any cricket till October 2019?

CWC is done and dusted. Controversies and what would have been if x happened will keep the fans busy for some time.

Just looked at the future schedule at one of the cricket sites and it says Pakistan will play their next matches only in November.

This world cup for Pakistan finished in early July. This means no cricket for four months.

Surely PCB is poor with scheduling. They could have arranged something one or two months after the world cup. Even Ireland and Zimbabwe would be playing more cricket. :moyo

What are your thoughts? Please share.
 
Exactly.....I don't remember but after CT17 or some tournament pak didn't play any cricket for 3 4 months and then end up loosing series with srilanka.....and we hear Rameez in commentary saying we expect Pak being rusty.....yeah some plays counties some domestics but international cricket is what tunes you ........ I m not saying Pak should play nonstop cricket but atleast play some decent amount.......pak don't play many tests and also ODIS.....it's only t20s that Pak plays decent amount ......this poor scheduling hurts team in long term

Yes, even series against weaker opponents help by allowing you to test youngsters.

Actually we really need a series against a weak opponent right now to boost up our numbers and ego. Think Fakhar and Hafeez. Specialist Captain also wants to win a series.
 
2 months break is minimum. BD and Lanka on the other hand are playing each other 2 weeks after the world cup. Makes ZERO sense. Players are tired.
 
Pakistan play SRL in october I belive PCB should try to get Ireland in Pakistan for Sept even if its few ODI's and T 20
 
I have always been annoyed because of the fact that Pakistan plays considerably less number of games per year than India. Annoyed because India and Pakistan are the 2 teams I very rarely miss watching in action. No cricket till November is a way overkill. The players are not octogenarians, a break for 2 months would have been enough.
 
Tri-series with Zimbabwe & Ireland can be arranged on a short notice. Fakhar Zaman can score his second 200 & Imam ul Haq can increase his average further.

I think there's enough there to keep Pak cricket fans busy for the next few months, i for one am happy to watch some high quality cricket without the blood pressure shooting through the roof every 5 minutes.

PCB could at least arrange an international series for Pakistan A team to test out new players. Oh well.
 
if PCB cant get anything then an A-Series and an u-19 series should get schduled

Wasim Khan showing his colours already with 5/6 players getting into the T20 blast in UK ... great work

the fiasco of new chief selector, search for a new coach and selection committee and coaching team will be hectic time for PCB so i dont see much happening.

players need to get on these T20 league wagon wheels themselves
 
I think the gap is ok. There will probably be a month or so of rest and limited training and then they will pick up camp work.

However, I think there is probably some domestic cricket happening? And I think some Pakistan players will be playing in the blast.
 
I am sick playing the likes of Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Bring on the big boys or stay at home.
 
The problem with A series and under 19 fixtures is that Pakistan have to play most of them in UAE. Which increases expenses without generating any money. I have mentioned this on another thread before and I think this is the main reason for less A and age group cricket for Pakistan.
 
Arrange a 3 match series between Pak first eleven, and Pak next eleven. Wherever the matches will be held in Pak they will be jam packed. It will be good to see display of fresh talent and it also is a nice fun event. Better than sitting idle for four months twiddling our thumbs.


I remember Aus used to do this before, but at that time they were so good that only an Australian team could compete with Australia.
 
The first eleven players should have been rested and the second eleven should have been tried during this time period
 
Because we are minnows, no one wants to play us.

Before people bash me. We have only won ODI series against WI, weak Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in last 4 years. The last two years of test cricket is even worse

Looks like no luck with Zimbabwe after what's happened! Who will Zaman bash now?
 
A lot of Pakistani players will likely be playing in T20 leagues such as the Vitality Blast, CPL and Euro T20 Slam. I guess that's why?

Its the other way around i guess.
Alot of Pakistani cricketers are playing league cricket because their is no international cricket scheduled and they are free.

That could be the case too, however T20 leagues have a lot of power these days. India was given a late entry into the WC because of the IPL. I wouldn't be surprised if it was because of all the T20 leagues that the players would want to play in.

Well IPL is a different ballgame and its India we are talking about.The rules can be bent in that case.
I dont think the Pakistani players have that sort of power to force their board to not schedule international games for leagues like the vitality blast etc.

Besides our FTP indicated quite a while back that our next series is in Nov.The players have been drafted in the leagues recently.I think its mostly PCBs incompetency that they have no cricket scheduled or any current talks with the other boards, for quite a few upcoming months.

Maybe, maybe not. Consistently over the years, these T20 leagues have had a lot of Pakistani players (usually first XI players) in them so it I'm inclined to believe it might not be a coincidence, though your point is probably more realistic (blaming it on PCB incompetency).
 
Let the boys make some money - Euro League, County cricket, CPL.

I'm sure some mickey mouse T10 or T5 leagues will also be recruiting.
 
Wishing Babar makes lots of money and stays happy always. Such a gem. Pride of Pak.

Btw we need a series against some minnows ASAP.
 
It is not just Pakistan. South Africa also doesn't have any scheduled cricket for a few months.

Pakistan can always arrange tours though (outside the scheduled FTP).
