Why did Nawaz Sharif return back to Pakistan to serve his punishment?

Why did Nawaz Sharif even bother to return? He has already made more than enough money for his future generations and could have easily spent rest of his life in comfort outside Pakistan. Yet he opted to return back to Pakistan knowing fully well the treatment that will be meted out to him. Doesn't make sense behind the decision he has taken.

Either he is confident about getting bail in a few days or else he will regret his decision. I am sure he has thought about a way to get out of where he is and doesn't intend to spend his complete sentence in jail.

I don't believe that he has returned back with no " Plan B ", wonder what it could be?
