Guys i am not getting it Bangladesh huge population cricket crazy country love their cricket yet for some reason i dont remember last time bangladesh played in England how does all other asian team get invited to play in england vs england any reason guys?

Last time BD played a series against England in England was in 2010. Tamim scored a century at Lord's. BD also won 1 ODI in Cardiff; ODI series finished at 2-1.

Anyway, I guess England's calendar is very packed. BD also have a packed schedule (WTC, FTP etc.).

England are scheduled to play a Test series in Bangladesh in February of 2027 (part of WTC).

Correction: BD won that game in Bristol. Not Cardiff. :inti

Wow I didn't realize it had been so long.

The answer why is quite a simple won. England doesn't gain anything by playing Bangladesh at home, playing Bangladesh away can serve as practice for tours of India but Bangladesh for England home has no real value. It has no historic or cultural value either.

They could play a LOI tour though, or even as part of a tri series but it is difficult to pack in a busy schedule.

There is a lot of goodwill between Pakistan cricket and English cricket..historic links and rivalry, plus many of the English elderstatement of cricket grew up being enthralled by the Pakistan team. LOI tours by Pakistan will sell out and tests will sell tickets too as in the past the series were very competitive. This won't last forever though.

Sri Lanka I'm not too sure about

Pakistan was/is known to produce good fast bowlers. So they will always get invited to SENA countries.

Bangladesh did not have any genuine pace bowlers for Test Cricket all these years. Only recently BD started with semi decent pace bowlers that maybe able to compete in SENA countries.

Also, Pak and SRL have much better W/L ratio in England compared to IND even though they play in ENG basically every single year.

Yes.

Fully understand if England don't want to invite Bangladesh. There is a clear mismatch.

Also, there is no chemistry or sporting/politicial rivalry between England and Bangladesh. There is nothing to market. :inti

I don't think British Bangladeshis are into cricket that much, well not in the same way as British Pakistanis and Indians anyway.

Most of the fans are recent migrants whereas Pak and India 3rd 4th Gen still come to the stadium.

It's all above revenue and another factor is BD lack big names of late...No Shakib, Tamim and Mushrafe etc

British Bangladeshis seem more into football.

Even in Bangladesh, Gen Z and Gen Alpha are more into football. Cricket is mostly popular with boomers and millennials.

I doubt the stadium would be empty. It just wouldn't be filled with alot of England fans..
It will make up for poor viewing. Ireland vs England , Lords test in 2023 11000 tickets were not sold for first 3 days. 5000 for the first day.

Lord's struggling to sell out Test match as Ireland label it not a 'pinnacle event
