THey have 7 odis on the trout. And its not like Australia is a bad team with no players. They have the players, yet they dont select them

Instead f selecting guys who avg between 20-30 why not select those who not only avg well but also have played odi cricket

George baily is there
Calum Ferguson is also there
Even Tom Cooper plays
They even have Camron white playing aswell

Whats the point of play young players when they are not even good enough to enter the team

They know they'll have Warner and Smith coming back. S Marsh is a fixture in ODI. Finch is the captain. They want Maxwell in the team. Therefore the selectors really just want to find one batsman out of this process/period to fill the top 6 when they all return (assuming allrounder will be Stoinis or M Marsh). They prefer that to be a younger player than a 35 year old tff.

Lynn is far and way the best domestic ODI bat lately.

Because they are not just good enough. Just because your favorite hung on for too long doesn't mean all the teams should add old players in their teams.

They wont be back till WC 2019. If they return before that, It would be a big egg on CA's face.

The way CA has been changing their personnel and Langer making statements it seems they will be back soon.

The way Aus is getting humiliated these days makes it more acceptable to the Australian public as well.

They should complete their ban. It would have been acceptable if they had banned them for 6 months and then used "suspended" tag for another six months.

It has all gone downhill for aussies, when they started selecting IPL XI kind of team. They have good batsmen/bowlers grinding at FC level. But don't know why they select players like NCN, Tye's, McKays, Marsh's, Maxwell's.

These players might be good for their respective leagues, but I don't even remember, anyone of these have won any game for Australia in last 3/4 years[even it will be there, its very rare and once in a blue moon performance]

Also, part of the problem is any new upcoming young player makes his debut first at IPL and then at national level, which is pretty bad for them.

An Australian top 4 of Warner, Finch, Khawaja and Smith would be world class. Feel like Khawaja's never really gotten an extended run in the ODI or T20I teams, formats which he interestingly does very well in domestically

Because there is no point bringing somwo6like Bailey in now, exce6 to use him as a stop gap. He wouldn't fit into the WC XI

1. Warner
2. Finch
3. Khawaja
4. Smith
5. Maxwell
6. Head/Agar
7. Stoinis/Marsh
8. Paine
9. Cummins
10. Starc
11. Hazlewood

There is no place for Baliey in that team. The top 4 are must-haves and 5, 6 and 7 all need to bowl (which Bailey doesn't do) because of Paine's presence at no 8.

So the team management is doing the right thing in trying to groom players for that team balance.
