Widow brutally gang-raped in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district - 4 held

A middle-aged woman in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district has been allegedly gang-raped by four people and an iron rod was inserted in her private part. The woman is in critical condition at the moment.

A middle-aged woman has been gang-raped in Madhya Pradesh's Seedhi district by four people. An iron rod was also inserted in her private parts.

"The accused came to her house late Saturday night and asked her for water, when she refused, they broke into the shanty and took turns to rape her. The accused before leaving the spot inserted an iron rod in the victim's private parts," police said.

The incident happened late on Saturday night, about 40 km from the district headquarters.

Dr. Kalpana Yadav, HOD, GMS, Rewa said, "The woman was in critical condition, there was an internal injury in the genitals, there was a wound of the rod which has now been operated. She is under treatment."

Umesh Joga, IG Rewa Range said, "On the complaint of the victim's family, the police registered a case and arrested the four accused. The accused are residents of the same village. Police have registered a case under relevant sections. Two of the accused have identified as accused Lallu Cole, Bhai Lal Patel.

According to the police, the victim's husband died about four years back and she lives along with her two minor children and her sister in a shanty from where she used to run a small shop.

The victim was rushed to the Amaliya police station in an autorickshaw from where she was first taken to a primary health centre and then to the Seedhi district hospital.

The victim reached the Seedhi district hospital in an unconscious state and was immediately rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Medical College in Rewa.

The victim's condition is reported to be critical.

Rewa range IG Umesh Joga while confirming the incident said four accused had been arrested and that investigations were being done on top priority.

Police have so far not revealed the identity of the four arrested.

It's times like this where part of me wishes medieval torture was used for such egregious crimes. Definitely an emotive response and not a rational one, but if anyone could deserve such a fate, it's these guys.

Completely agree with you. The identities must be revealed and everyone should know them. These criminals should be made to work all their life without rest and the fruits of their labor should be given to the victims treatment and family.

You can pass all legislation, but the cases are only going to end up as a backlog before the judiciary, the most inefficient and rotten institution in india. it is a judicial and social problem.

MP already has a law for death penalty for those who rape minors, and has been awarding death penalties to those convicted. For non minor's it depends on the brutality.

I think in low wage labours who are not educated, watching porn makes them loose control. I would not say all Rapes are related to porn. The rapes committed on instinct without plan are linked , but those done with planning are more for revenge or anger .

13-Year-Old Raped Twice By 9 In Five Days In Madhya Pradesh: Police

Bhopal: A 13-year-old girl was kidnapped and gang-raped by nine men in Madhya Pradesh's Umaria district twice within five days, the police have said, adding seven people have been arrested so far in the case. The incident comes at a time when the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government is running the 'Samman' campaign - a fortnight-long public awareness drive about crime against women across the state.
At least four such chilling incidents in the last six days against women in various parts of Madhya Pradesh, have raised questions about their safety in the state.

According to the police, the 13-year-old girl was first kidnapped by a young man known to her on January 4 and then raped by him and six of his friends for two days.

Before letting her go on January 5, the accused threatened to kill her if she told anybody so she did not file a complaint.

The horror was repeated six days later as she was again kidnapped on January 11 by one of the seven men who raped her before and then held captive in jungles as well as a roadside eatery, where three of them again raped her, the police said.

After being let go by the three accused, she was kidnapped again and allegedly raped by two truck drivers, before she managed to flee and return to her house on Friday early morning, they added.

The incident was reported to the police on Friday after which multiple teams conducted searches.
