Only hardcore followers of Pakistan cricket will understand the thread title and the feeling behind it.

A great dream left unfulfilled could now be fulfilled. I hope so.

Fakhar is good, but we’re gonna have to wait till the big matches to see how good he really is. He shown a lot so far with good performances in New Zealand and in the champions trophy, but I have a feeling we have really good player in our hands here.

With Imam though, we will not the able to make judgements on him till he faces some real challenges. He performed well against this weakend Zimbabwe side, but we will have to wait and see if he can do the same against the bigger sides.

Imam also had issues with his strike rate at times in this series, which doesn’t really fill me with confidence becuase if he can’t bat quickly against these bowlers than there might be a problem later on.

But it’s early days and hopefully he develops into a good player.

Asia cup and the subsequent games will tell us where Imam stands.
Till now Pak team has not faced the challenge of chasing big total against quality opposition, that will be interesting to see. NZ series did show us glimpses like how bad we could be in alien conditions against one of the best home bullies, but there FZ showed tremendous skills and attitude.

Imam, on the other hand, found out some EXCUSE to sit out.

Interesting times ahead...

Imam probably won't feature in WC'19 because Pakistan are going to play plenty of matches against the big teams before the WC and a string of low scores will get him dropped unless his abilities improve dramatically.

Now this is subtle from the bhaijaan. :))

Nope. I dont see Imam surviving for long.

I don't think Imam will do good against better teams.

Imam should be given some chances , I am sure he will be able to improve his strike rate.

The year is 2002. Bhaijaan is in his teens. Pakistan is wearing their best kit. Immy Farhat and Yasir Hameed seem to be forging a great alliance against a good New Zealand team. Bhaijaan becomes a lifelong fan of Immy farhat. Life is good.

I remember that series 5 Odis white wash 50+ opening partnership in every match.

Pakistan has the best top 3 in the world right now and maybe a home series against Zimbabwe and thir is no way anyone can touch Pakistan at the next world cup.

I am all for giving Imam a long rope but he is yet to be tested against a quality bowling attack. For all we know he may end u as another Shehzad.

Fakhar on the other hand has proven his mettle at every stage so far. I feel he can go the distance (IA).

Imam isn't good enough and you could see that from his SR during this series. Problem is Sahibzada Farhan is too raw.

The only other option is trying out Haris Sohail as an opener. Sharjeel is a big loss in this team.

So some pundits here have written off Imam even before the poor lad has played against the big teams. What a confidence booster for the chap!
Feel sorry for him as he always seems to be put under too much scrutiny for being Inzi’s nephew.
I think this boy will do well, provided the team management doesn’t change. You never know with Pakistan cricket.

Oh pleaseeee, I am tired for seeing Haris Sohail being mentioned as the next saviour of our cricket. He is good for a cute 30 odd, and that’s it.
