Will Yasir Shah ever recover from the hammering he has received in Australia?

For all the mock Kumble gets, he had one of the most well disguised googly at that time, he had a slider, skidder, flipper and a slightly turning leg spin, not to forget he was damn accurate as well.

Why would kumble get mocked . He was a REALLY good bowler , its just that during his era there were much greater bowlers playing .If he was playing in this day in age he'd already be considered an ATG.

Also hiring Mushi comes at a cost for PCB. It isn't as if Mushi comes for free.

Most players do and have recovered after they have been annihilated/eaten/destroyed/crushed/humiliated at the UAE, so I don't think it should be problem for YS

If others can recover then so can YS.

It is critical for Yasir to succeed in ODI and T-20 Cricket, so far he looks clueless and has no idea what to do when the batsmen just go after him ruthlessly, this is the only way he will know what to do in test matches when the batsmen are ultra aggressive against him.

I agree on this point. Yasir Shah needs to improve in T20/ODI. At present he is lacking plan B.

He isn't finished, but he is not the world class spinner people thought he is. Ashwin is a much better bowler, he has a smarter brain and can deceive the batsman with guile. Yasir gets smashed unless their is assistance in the wicket.

Same as with many Pakistani players who lack bowling intelligence: they just vanish. Also it is no wonder it took Yasir years to make it to international cricket. He has one way of doing things and when the opposition gets the hang of it he doesn't have a plan B.

But as long as Mushi can be there they can make full use of Yasir.

To be honest, I didn't watch much of his bowling in this series. I hope he isn't depended on just LBW. If I was a leggie(I am one but pretend I wasn't trash and I was an international spinner), i'd love to have some bounce. Like I said, I feel that Yasir isn't quite bright enough to use his skills very well.

Quite shocking to see him being dismantled so easily. By the end of the series every skills seems to have deserted him.

His USP was always his accuracy and ability to spin the ball big. Without either he is cannon fodder. Against good batsmen / conditions though, he really needs to apply more varieties and plans to dismiss batsmen. There is sadly a bit of an intelligence deficit there with Yasir, which is why he will never be a 'great' spinner.

Kumble is a finger leg spinner, action is same, it's just that, when he bowls googly he uses index finger and thumb, while bowling legspin he uses index, middle and thumb.

By looking at the recent tours he is no more looking as the world class bowler, not took wickets, not control runs, looks like part timer who just smashed around, it reminds me of greame smith and micheal vaugh bowling...

Completely destroyed. This is putting into perspective how impressive Ashwin's performance on the last tour to Australia was. Even on previous tours, Ashwin would atleast keep the runs down and keep the game from running away. Embarrassing performance from Yasir, he needs to take lessons from Ashwin, maharaj and herath.

Not seen any match of Yasir at the UAE. Seeing him nit eh last 2 tests I wonder how he takes wickets even in UAE with utter lack of control. He doesn't even have that many variation. No side spin. Leggies generally extract a lot more boune than this in Australia.

If he had done this under Kohli, he would have been permanently sidelined. In Australia Ashwin was dropped after averaging 25 in the first test just because he was not effective in the end overs.
