Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday, in a surprising comparison, likened Prime Minister Imran Khan to Adolf Hitler and said his party will not let the premier become “Pakistan’s Hitler”.

The strong reaction by the PML-N was due to the arrest of former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi by the accountability watchdog earlier today.

“Is every civilian a terrorist here?” Iqbal questioned. “We can sacrifice our lives but, we will not deviate from the path of exposing this government for what it is.”

Questioning ‘biased’ actions of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Iqbal suggested changing its name to ‘Nawaz-league accountability bureau.’

“NAB is only capable of acting against us,” he said, “It does not question the government. Half of the cabinet members have references registered against them, but they are not arrested. Does NAB have the courage to seek out Imran Niazi in the helicopter case?”

The former prime minister was arrested by NAB from the outskirts of Lahore for his involvement in the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) scandal. NAB escorted the PML-N leader to its local Lahore office

It is a witch-hunt: PPP

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also condemned the arrest of the former prime minister and termed it as a part of the witch-hunt of ‘selected’ government against the elected representatives.

In a statement issued, the PPP chairman said that the “selected” government wants to hide its utter failure by detaining and arresting political opponents but the protests against its continuous attacks on the national economy would not end.

Bilawal said that “selective accountability by the selected government” would never be accepted despite the use of illegal and unconstitutional tools against the joint opposition.

He also demanded the release of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Authorities intercepted Abbasi’s vehicle at Lahore toll plaza when he was on his way to meet PML-N President, Shehbaz Sharif.

The former premier was due to appear in the accountability court at 10am on today. However, he recused himself from appearing on the pretext that he was busy to appear in court.

This also gives us an idea about the IQ level of them because on one side they compare him with all powerful dictators and on other side they call him puppet

Hitler inherited a broken germany due to the harsh treaty of versailles in 1933. 6 years of his rule, Germany became a great power in 1939.

This country could sure use a Hitler.

PML N crimes :

1. Dawn Leaks whereby 3rd time Prime Minister of Pakistan ordered Military Chief to act against Jamaat ud Dawaa, Lashkar e Jhangvi, Sipah e Sahaba and Lashkar e Tayyaba.

And the Military called them our strategic assets ?

Did not want to implement the order of Chief Executive of Pakistan and said No.

Now with FATF blacklist hanging in Pakistan’s neck the same Establishment is getting it done ?

2. Taking Musharaf a living Military Dictator to Court for abrogating Pakistani Constitution not once but twice.

3. Raising Pakistan’s GDP from 3.7 to 5.8 in 5 years.

4. Raising Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves to Record 24 billion Dollars (Most ever in Pakistan’s history) before Panama Iqama drama.

5. Lifting Pakistan’s Stock Exchange from 18000 points to 56000 before Panama Iqama misuse by Deep State. Pakistan’s Stock Exchange was amongst top 5 stock exchanges of the whole world.

6. Raising Pakistan’s total Tax collections from 19 trillion rupees to 40 trillion rupees in 5 years. Improving TAX to GDP ratio.

7. Adding 11000 megawatts (Pakistan’s Record) to nation grid in 5 years whereas nation was witnessing loadshedding upto 18 hours a day before 2013 and the Industry was dwindling due to power shortages.

8. Qatar LNG deal saving $ 600 million and solving gas shedding shortage issue.

9. Making Motorways of 2362 km in 5 years

10. Lifting 6.2 % Pakistani Population ie 12690000 Pakistani’s out of those below poverty line in 5 years. (UNDP Report)

11. Brought down inflation from 9 % to 3.5 % in 5 years.

These were the main crimes and the biggest of them definitely were 1 & 2.

This Corruption and Accountability mantra is dying it’s miserable death except for paid Establishment trolls fighting 5th generation warfare on Internet and media on our Pakistanis tax payers money.

This is :

A. Witch Hunting

B. Attempt to Silence Truth

C. Goebbel’s theory in action

D. Post Poll rigging

E. Political Victimisation

ISI Political Wing and Establishment’s subservient incompetent corrupt stooge Imran Khan’s Corruption Accountability Mantra is from this School of Thought :

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

With this Big Lie Policy Pakistan is not going to move an inch in the right direction and neither our International Image will improve nor will be progress economically or socially.

Let’s not go into 31.5 billion dollars loans in first year only (Pakistan’s record), 8.9 % inflation, 2.9 % GDP growth.

Regarding Imran Khan’s ATM from Karachi Faisal Vawda’s illgotten Estates well that merits a seperate new thread :-)

Nawaz was an establishment stooge.

Now that he is out of favour his supporters claim imran did the exact same thing that Nawaz did to get into power for multiple terms.

If imran is an establishment stooge, what is nawaz complaining about, when he himself is a used and abused stooge.

Ahsan Iqbal one of the architect & shining light of Roshan Progressive Pakistan

WAS ended more than 2 decades ago. That’s important.

More cut and paste drama..just answer one question if Nawaz mandela was such a great leader then why did he fail to build a proper health service..I mean he goes off to britain using theirs but cant build one here..why didnt he..

also can somebody tell me why the nation is so indebted? I mean if the PMLN were so great why did we have a balance of payments crisis to deal with in the fist months of the new govt?

I'm a ghareeb jatt aadmi so could one of these very clever nawaz supporters just tell me? Im curious.

Seems like he didn't enjoy the jalsa :13:

People are quick to label others as "Hitler" nowadays. Imran Khan was a fantastic leader in cricket and now he is doing a good job in politics.

These comparisons to Hitler are honestly an insult to those millions of Jews that were killed during the holocaust. It's an insult to humanity. Ahsan Iqbal should publically apologise for such a disgusting comparison. I dont care if u hate imran Khan u know full well he is no where near Hitler. If imran is hitler then Modi is dajjal.

Why do people only ever remember the Jews?

Soviets and others suffered immensely.

Obviously others aswell but u cant deny the Jews had it the worst. 6 million Jews killed just because they were jews. Sadly the same is happening to muslims in various parts of the world including the so called Jewish state of Israel.

Approximately 27 million Soviets.

He means being corrupt too I won't let IK punish by type.

These people are very manipulative. They know local populace don't give two hoots about IK being called Hitler, but the Western media would. Its a sly and pathetic attempt to shore up international support against IK.

Imran has the backing of the military. But atleast we know hes not corrupt. Pakistan has always had a corrupt leader for the past god knows how many years.

Give him 2 terms he will change pakistan towards a better future. But he has to ally himself with trump and get out of chinas hand which the the corrupt shareef gov tied up pakistan in.

China is the ally you dont want, they will kill you with interest.

He will win majority next term. Pakistan needs to move on like the west. Religion should not be apart of the gov.

Govt has ruined economy within a year, says PML-N's Ahsan Iqbal

PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday lashed out at the government during a public gathering — held to mark the first anniversary of 2018's general elections — saying that the incumbent government had "ruined" the economy in the first year of its tenure.

He was addressing a public meeting at Motorway Chowk on Ring Road in Peshawar alongside members of opposition parties including Qaumi Watan Party's Chairman Aftab Sherpao and Awami National Party's President Asfandyar Wali Khan. Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who was leading the rally, also addressed the gathering.

A visibly charged Iqbal said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked for loans from every friendly nation. "He (prime minister) used to say that he would commit suicide but not ask the International Monetary Fund for money," Iqbal said.

The former planning minister said that Nawaz Sharif had delivered on all his promises and merged the tribal areas with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Opposition parties are marking the first anniversary of the 2018 general elections as 'Youm-e-Siah' — 'black day' — by holding rallies across Pakistan.

The joint opposition are holding public meetings in all provincial capitals — Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta — while a demonstration will be held in Islamabad.

PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz arrived in Quetta, where she will address a rally at Ayub Stadium to mark the first anniversary of 2018 general elections.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the chairman of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party, and other opposition leaders will also join Maryam at the rally and address supporters. Security has been beefed up around the stadium.

In a post shared on Twitter prior to her departure, Maryam wrote that every day under the current government — that she alleged had "stolen votes and was a fraud" — is a black day for the country.

Look at the state of that ground... :salute

An accountability court in Islamabad on Monday granted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) 13-day physical remand of senior PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal for alleged corruption in the Narowal Sports City project.

A day after Iqbal was arrested, he was produced before the accountability court which granted NAB physical remand till January 6. Accountability court judge Mohammed Bashir presided over the proceedings.

Speaking to the media before the hearing, Iqbal said: “I accept the punishment if I am being punished for speaking out in favour of the death sentence handed to Gen Pervez Musharraf”.

“I accept the punishment if I was arrested for fulfilling my promises to the people of Narowal. But, if by arresting me they think they can stop me from speaking out against Imran Ahmed Niazi [Prime Minister Imran Khan], that is not acceptable.”

On Monday, Iqbal was arrested from the anti-corruption watchdog's Rawalpindi office where he had appeared to record his statement in the case regarding alleged corruption in the Narowal Sports City project.

Iqbal is accused of using funds from the federal government and the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for a sports city being established in Narowal — a multi-billion-rupee project.

The PML-N secretary general had earlier said he had submitted documents related to his income and expenditures to NAB Rawalpindi. The opposition leader had already replied to a questionnaire given to him by the bureau in connection with the same case.

Addressing the media outside the accountability court, PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said: "The soldiers of Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, who are standing up for the rights of the people, are being arrested one by one".

"They [proceedings] are being conducted without a shred of evidence. NAB itself has said that there is not evidence of any kickback or commission.

Ahsan Iqbal moves NAB to file reference against PM Imran

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former interior minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday moved National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file a reference against Prime Minister Imran Khan for withholding funds for the Narowal Sports City Complex project.

Talking to media in Narowal flanked by PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday, he said that former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has promised to hold a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match at the Narowal Sports City Complex.

The PML-N leader said that a case was lodged against him over irregularities in the Narowal Sports City Complex, adding that the astroturf of the complex imported worth millions of rupees were not installed on time and has been wasted. He said Pakistan lost sports project as a result of revenge tactics, adding that Narowal City Complex project should be completed immediately.

Ahsan Iqbal further said that the PM Imran Khan withheld the funding of the sports complex soon after coming into power, adding that baseless allegations were levelled against him.

He asked why the project was the project included in the PSDP, adding that the union council level projects were being included in the PSDP.

The project where our Olympians would have been trained has been sabotaged,” he said and added all national players had played matches in the Narowal Sports City Complex.

The PML-N leader went on to say that Peshawar’s BRT project is the biggest corruption scandal of the incumbent government. He said: “The anti-graft watchdog convenes a meeting in 2 hours to appeal against our bails, adding the PTI looted Rs300 billion but there is no one to question them.”

https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/pak-pm-imran-khan-is-called-puppet-in-india-nawaz-sharifs-fresh-dig-2669982

Deposed Pakistani premier Nawaz Sharif has taken a fresh dig at Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying the cricketer-turned politician is called a "puppet" leader in India, as he was installed by the powerful military in 2018.
Mr Sharif, who is presently in London getting treatment for a heart condition, attended, via video link, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) general meeting held in Lahore on Thursday.

"In India, Imran Khan is called a 'puppet' and in the United States it is said that he (Imran) has powers even less than that of a mayor. This is because the world knows how he has been brought to power. Imran has not come into power by the votes of the people but with help of (the) military establishment," the three-time former premier said.

Mr Sharif, 71, convicted in two corruption cases in Pakistan, has been living in London since November 2019 after the Lahore High Court granted him permission to go abroad for four weeks for medical treatment.

Earlier at the party meet, Mr Sharif took swipes at Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and former ISI chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed for "imposing a puppet government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf " through a rigged general election in 2018.

"This man (Imran Khan) used to say that he would prefer suicide than going to the IMF (International Monetary Fund). Now we are waiting when he commits suicide,” Mr Sharif said, recalling Khan's strident criticism of the former Pakistani government's borrowing from international institutions.

The PTI government, in its first three years in power since 2018, has already contracted debt from foreign governments and institutions of over USD 34 billion. Sharif said: “In the name of new Pakistan (naya Pakistan) inept and incompetent people like Imran Khan were imposed on the nation that ruined the country's economy." He further said the reason behind the country's decline is that the Constitution is never held supreme and oaths are never honoured.

"Even the people's opinions are kept hostage. If Pakistan wants to move towards prosperity, then lessons need to be learnt from the past. If we are to bring back the glory days of the country, we need to give people the right to franchise," he said.

Former foreign minister and close aide to Sharif, Khawaja Asif said: “I know how brave Imran Khan is. We know on whose backing (military establishment) he puts up a brave face and challenges his political opponents. When Imran had gone to jail (during General Pervez Musharraf's regime) for four to five days he would cry behind bars. Seeing this, the then government released him.” Former speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, meanwhile, indicated that Sharif may be planning to return to Pakistan "very soon".

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday said that he will not seek criminal charges against PTI supporters who heckled him at a restaurant in Bhera yesterday, pointing out he had left the matter in the "people's court" but lamented the "culture of hatred" that he said was introduced by Imran Khan.

Iqbal was jeered at and heckled by PTI supporters at the restaurant on Friday night. Viral videos of the incident circulating online show women and teenagers chanting anti-government slogans and hurling abuses at the minister, loudly calling him "chor".

In a tweet later, Iqbal said: "Today, a family — who apparently considered themselves elites and supported PTI — clashed with me. Instead of holding a dialogue with me they started chanting slogans,” he wrote, adding that as a counter-attack, other people present at the restaurant also started chanting slogans against the PTI."

He criticised former prime minister Imran Khan for "instilling a culture of hatred" among the people, adding that "just like their ignorant and lunatic leader, his supporters are following suit".

At a press conference in Lahore today, the minister said that the incident didn't affect his popularity but highlighted the culture Imran Khan was teaching his followers.

Iqbal stressed that the "disease of polarisation and hatred" in society was hollowing out Pakistan like "cancer". "I say this with disappointment that we expected Imran Niazi, who was a sportsman, to teach his supporters sportsmanship in the country's politics.

"But he did the opposite. His politics just spreads hatred in society. This poison is spreading so rapidly that if we don't counter it, the society will be steps away from anarchy and civil war — like Libya," he warned.

The minister went on to say that he had two ways to go about the incident. "The first was to register an FIR (first information report) against these people. Pakistan gives me the right to initiate proceedings under its law. But I have decided against it."

Instead, he said he was leaving the matter in the court of the public. "In the court of the people, I want to register a complaint against the leadership of the party that encourages this behaviour," Iqbal said, referring to the PTI.

Addressing PTI supporters, he urged them to carefully consider if their leader was as sincere to them as they were to him. "Imran Niazi has a track record of using people and throwing them away like tissue paper," he claimed.

Iqbal requested people to think if "you want your children to become victims of this hatred or want to pull them out of it".

He also thanked the people who condemned the incident and reached out to him with consolation messages. "I am a stern believer of freedom and democracy. The people of this country are very well-aware of my services for Pakistan and I don't need a PTI certificate to prove it," he added.

PTI says 'ordinary citizens angry'

Meanwhile, after the incident last night, PTI leaders negated Iqbal's claims regarding the PTI chairman. Former information minister Fawad Chaudhry suggested that the PML-N leader should "wear a burqa" and go out in public.

Ex-minister Hammad Azhar tweeted: "As per PML-N and its dependants, its okay to throw tear gas at peaceful citizens including women and children, order police to barge into residences without warrants, book people on fake FIRs."

"But raising slogans in McDonald's against an unpopular fascist govt is high treason," he added.

On the other hand, senior PTI leader Shireen Mazari, in response to a tweet by a journalist condemning the incident, said that ordinary citizens were fed up and angry.

And now with rana sanaullah as interior minister those harassers are doomed...

Good riddance, anyone who tries to harrass and misbehave in public will now think twice.

Shehbaz Gill destroying this chor in a press conference who has imported tea whilst telling Pakistanis to have less tea. His family was against creation of Pakistan.

This is the level of these low life thieves who kill/crush everyone who exposes their theft and treason by misusing state machinery, all the while using taxpayers money to create fake audios as if is their dads money.

These jokers sure love relating everything to the Nazis. How about these criminals do some introspection and have some shame over the pain and misery they've caused to millions during their decades long reign.

PDM has no morals or ideology.

So what would you call a person that is corrupt and justifies corruption? I think they are called chore where I come from? I am not sure about how you been bought up.

If someone comes in and robs ones home, we see him out in the market or on the road, does he expect to be greeted with respect or taken to task?

People who conceive schemes of deceit against this country, work to make a mockery of us, who work to shamelessly peddle lies, who led Pakistan here, deserve no respect.

PPP, pmln and MQM would torture a guy on the main street, burn homes, shops and properties of the opposing party, ANP and JUI were at loggerheads.

It's just social media which has brought this out to the fore and for everyone to see. If social media existed then we would have been seeing beheadings on Twitter and nude pictures of Benazir trending. Since all these thieves are together against one man, they are acting like angels.

These vastly different ideological parties never worked together for the past 30 years, even under dictators, so why now? Know this and you will have the answer to who is right and who is wrong.

It's called freedom of speech..clearly not something the current fascist govt and its supporters care much for..you lot have been clearly exposed as liars hypocrites and enablers. Iqbal should count his lucky stars he didn't get a chitroal because the public is heading that way...

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Sunday that PTI supporters, who had heckled him at a restaurant in Sargodha’s Bhera earlier this week, had come to meet him and apologised for their actions.

Iqbal was jeered at and heckled by PTI supporters at the restaurant on Friday night. Viral videos of the incident circulating online showed women and teenagers chanting anti-government slogans and hurling abuses at the minister, loudly calling him “chor”.

In a press conference the next day, Iqbal said he would not seek criminal charges against the supporters. He said he had left the matter in the “people’s court” but lamented the “culture of hatred” that he said was introduced by PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

In a tweet today, the minister shared that the family involved in the incident had expressed remorse and shame over their actions and apologised to him.

“I had already announced to forgo legal action against them. We are all Pakistanis and [should] not convert the right to disagree into hate. We have to maintain mutual respect,” Iqbal tweeted.

Iqbal blames Imran for ‘instilling hate’
A day earlier, Iqbal said that the incident did not affect his popularity but highlighted the culture Imran was teaching his followers.

Iqbal stressed that the “disease of polarisation and hatred” in society was hollowing out Pakistan like “cancer”. “I say this with disappointment that we expected Imran Niazi, who was a sportsman, to teach his supporters sportsmanship in the country’s politics.

“But he did the opposite. His politics just spread hatred in society. This poison is spreading so rapidly that if we don’t counter it, the society will be steps away from anarchy and civil war — like Libya,” he warned.

Iqbal requested people to think if “you want your children to become victims of this hatred or want to pull them out of it”.

Meanwhile, PTI leaders negated Iqbal’s claims regarding the PTI chairman. Former information minister Fawad Chaudhry suggested that the PML-N leader should “wear a burqa” and go out in public.

He also said that PML-N leaders were unaware of the ground realities. “People are against you because you came to power by stealing their political mandate. Social stability is possible only with political stability in the country,” Chaudhry added, demanding immediate elections.

On the other hand, senior PTI leader Shireen Mazari, in response to a tweet by a journalist condemning the incident, said that ordinary citizens were fed up and angry.

Former special assistant to the prime minister Shahbaz Gill, in a rebuttal to Iqbal, said that protesting and raising their voice against something wrong was every citizen’s right. “The law doesn’t give you the permission to physically attack someone but there is nothing wrong in expressing your views. That is your right as per the law.”

The former federal minister said that a thief would be called a thief. “If you don’t like the word, suggest a better word for chor, we would call you that.”

Ahsan Iqbal vs PTI 1-0

Amusing seeing the same family that heckled and abused Ahsan Iqbal a day earlier now sitting right beside him in his residence smiling and having a lavish dinner with him.

Shouldn't they be worried about their handbags and pockets going cleared out by sitting next to a "chor"? This exposes the reality of PTI fans. They love the limelight an the family has got their five seconds of fame.

Ahsan Iqbal is the winner here by acting as a real gentleman by not pressing charges against these attention seekers. Great on him for accepting their apology and serving them dinner.

So forcing families to apologise that call you out is a win for the mafia. Describing your post as pathetic is being too kind to your intellect. None of you thugs has so far explained what they did wrong and to get Intelligence agencies and releasing their photos on social media to intimidate this family is fascism.

PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Tuesday accused PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal of using intelligence agencies to pressure and extract an apology out of a family that had heckled him at a restaurant last week.

Iqbal, the minister for planning and development, was jeered by the family on Friday night when he was out in public. Viral videos of the incident circulating online showed women and teenagers chanting anti-government slogans and hurling abuses at the minister, loudly calling him "chor".

Days later on Sunday, Iqbal said that the family had come to meet him and also apologised for their actions.

Addressing a rally in Layyah as part of canvassing for the by-elections on 20 seats in Punjab due on July 17, Imran addressed the incident, as he branded Iqbal "shameless and coward" for "pressuring the family through agencies to tender an apology."

The ex-PM said he would continue calling Iqbal and his leaders as "dacoits" as the "incumbent government had used its authority to get reprieve in Rs1.1 trillion corruption cases."

Imran, in reference to the July 17 by-polls, said a "big change" was around the corner that will put to bed the "[political] future of turncoats".

He asked PTI workers and supporters to canvass diligently, saying the country would have no future if the current rulers were re-imposed on the country in the by-elections.

He urged his followers to prevent the government's plans of rigging the elections by "keeping a watch on polling stations".

"Their Mr X who is based in Lahore is meeting Maryam and Punjab CM Hamza to temper the election results and bring these back to power," Imran alleged.

As always chor was lying, Moeed Pirzada highlights here:-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4F8IQIesc4

A lady asked ahsan why he sides with thieves.

Like a true fascist he made an idiotic and disrespectful comment which one can only expect from a generational slave, to which the family (mainly teens) replied by calling him chor.

Then the criminal on bail khandaan used IB and other agencies to bully, threaten and intimidate the family into an apology to save their lives.

pmln chors are out of control and misusing government resources to bully and threaten journalists, general public and PTI.

Moeed also pointed out how these pmln and ppp thugs like Mustafa Khokhar, Noor Alam Khan and Faisal Kundi after horsetrading to overthrow PTIs government, beat up a senior citizen, due to the fascist environment created by these chors, neither the citizen or Mariott hotel asked the police for an FIR against the assault by imported governments members (thugs).

Minister surrenders 'official' Land Cruiser
Federal minister cites exorbitant cost of fuel and maintenance as reason for returning vehicle

Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has surrendered his expensive official vehicle provided to him for use as federal minister.

In his letter to Special Secretary Cabinet Division Ezaz Ahmed Dar, Iqbal said that keeping in mind the austerity measures announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to overcome the current economic challenges faced by the country, he was returning the official vehicle.

The minister said that the country was standing at a crucial juncture and was “submerged in a variety of challenges,” underscoring the economic crisis as the worst of the challenges.

He added that as a member of the National Assembly, he had been given an expensive vehicle — Toyota Land Cruiser — with an engine capacity of 4,500cc.

However, he wrote, “due to the current situation the government is forced to take very harsh measures to rectify the deficits and control our expenditures".

Adding that the people of Pakistan were also asked to join hands with the government to collectively bear the burden of financial and economic hardships faced by the country, the minister said he felt it was his “duty” to surrender the big vehicle allotted to him.

He cited the exorbitant cost of fuel and maintenance as the reason for returning the vehicle and instead asked for a vehicle having 1,800cc or lesser engine capacity.

Why not hand these Ministers a 70cc bike, after all that live in Parliament lodges which is adjacent to National Assembly so why waste money on luxury vehicles

Ahsan Iqbal blames judges, generals for imposing an 'amateur' leader on Pakistan

Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has accused a group of judges and military generals of derailing Pakistan's progress by imposing an "inexperienced" leader on the country.

Speaking to the media at the Expo Centre in Lahore, Iqbal said, "Pakistan was on the development path when a few judges and generals imposed an amateur on the country."

The federal minister made these remarks referring to the beleaguered and incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.

Iqbal emphasized the potential of Pakistan's agricultural sector, stating that billions of dollars could be added to the nation’s resources through agricultural exports.

"Pakistan is a country with immense potential in every sector. If we are to move forward, we must increase our exports," he noted.

He drew a parallel with the recent historic achievements of Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem in the Paris Olympics 2024, saying, "We must progress just as Arshad Nadeem raised the flag of Pakistan".

"His story teaches us that success is possible even with limited resources."

Iqbal further remarked, "If Arshad Nadeem can win a gold medal, why can't this resource-rich country achieve the 'gold medal' in development?

Last night, Arshad Nadeem's father told me, 'I have raised my children on halal earnings.'"

Reflecting on the challenges Pakistan has faced, he added, "A lot has happened to Pakistan—sit-ins, long marches, and court decisions have put us in difficult situation".

"Pakistan was on the path to progress until a few judges and generals imposed an inexperienced leader on us".
