A policy of respect, not criticism, should be followed when it comes to Pakistan, according to the United Kingdom’s Labour Party chief Jeremy Corbyn.
The comments referred to US President Donald Trump’s August 22 speech in which he accused Pakistan of providing safe havens to terrorists while unveiling the new US policy for Afghanistan and South Asia.

“Pakistan must be treated with respect, and all countries should avoid criticising it,” said Corbyn, leader of Britain’s main opposition party, during an interview with BBC Urdu .

“All the countries of the world should make all-possible efforts for the eradication of terrorism,” Corbyn said.

He went on to add that Trump’s proposed increase in the number of US troops in the war-torn Afghanistan is a continuation of previous failed policies in Afghanistan.

“I do not support it. The solution to the Afghan crisis is a political dialogue,” he added.

Speaking about the Rohingya crisis, Corbyn said he respected Myanmar’s leader Aung San Suu Kyi and would remind her that “when you were under house arrest, we held marches for you and supported your struggle for human rights. Now you should also respect the human rights of Rohingya Muslims the same way…and ensure that they get their full rights as citizens and not be expelled from their homes”.

It's true that the world needs to be more tolerant of each other but there are a couple of bad apples out there. Corbyn however also took back his statement of wanting to get rid of University fees and now people were calling him a weasel. Can't really trust any politician out there now can we regardless of what topic it is.

Please stop lying or exposing your own ignorance for falling for the lies from trash right wing newspapers

Corbyn hasn't gone back on anything.

Lol I don't get why you're trying to act like a big man and call me an "ignorant liar" when I saw news on this (months ago) which said that he supposedly denied abolishing tuition fees. I am a supporter of the Labour party and you have no right to call me an ignorant liar when you're just simply getting all giddy and excited at one comment on a forum and wanting to frame me for your own satisfaction. It's not my fault if the news was true or not, I can simply take back my views if I'm wrong (and I'd love to because hardly anyone can afford to pay back tuition fees).

Read my previous post again, was I the one who called him a "weasel"? I'm simply talking about how others are calling him that. They've also called him a wolf in a sheep's outfit after that. I saw this on twitter and obviously given people my age, we all love Corbyn and wanted him to become our next prime minister.

Next time try harder mate before trying to attack me you attention seeker.

Really sick of people who simply just brand people with absurd titles and then try to make themselves seem like saints. Corbyn is a breath of fresh air for us youth and much better than Theresa May who has done nothing for the country and is just absolutely clueless; there were also calls for her to resign. Now obviously not all politicians are perfect, Corbyn does have his flaws but majority of people will react to certain news whether it's positive or negative. I really appreciate Corbyn for his comments on Pakistan but him trying to abolish tuition fees, now is that something that can actually happen? I'd love for it to go...

I think you are confusing tuition fees with existing student debt, the former was a manifesto pledge the latter was something to be addressed in the future.

Talking about safe heaven- India is the biggest financier of LTTE, which tormented through Sri Lanka last 40 yrs before seeing its end in 2009. Now India is after poor muslims of Mianmar.

Not exactly.

Now to me, that's a promise to ameliorate, reduce or extend the repayment terms of existing student debt. He said "I will deal with it". You give your word, you are expected to be as good as your word. Or don't give your word.

Maybe he just mis-spoke. You have to be so careful these days because everything is on record.

Corbyn is right, Pakistan has suffered a lot over the last two decades, but has remained a crucial ally of the west despite that. Some may say it has cost them too much, alienating the big three power bases on their doorstep, India, Russia and Iran, who are all in alignment in the east. My big fear is that this longstanding relationship is winding down with Russia seeking to make inroads where the western powers are failing. The question is: is it already too late?

Respect has to be earned. Can't do that when we keep electing corrupt politicians who never defend the country. Nawaz Sharif should be saying what Jeremy has.
