Would there have been same support from media for Fawad Alam if he was 10 years younger?

Young performers of QEA always get overlooked for Pakistan team and we never see media raising voice for them but Fawad Alam gets massive support from the media for being overlooked. I think Pakistani media has a fetish for 30 plus players thats why you never see them raising their voice for players like Imran Butt, Sami Aslam etc

Sami will get his chance...he had an oppertunity already he needs to make slight technical changes to his game i think

If that younger player had been among the runs for a good part of a decade then yes absolutely

If anything Pakistan selectors have lacked imagination and bet on wrong horses in the last 15 years. A talented test specialist like Fawad should have been a test regular in our team already.

It is absolutely imbecilic.

The guy is 34 years old and is coming back after his contemporaries in every other country have retired.

The only danger even worse than him failing is of him succeeding against soft Sri Lankan and Bangladesh bowling.

Because then he would be retained for series outside Asia, and he would delay the development of Sami Aslam, Usman Salahuddin and Saud Shakeel just as Misbah blocked Babar Azam’s development for two pointless years.

This is a moronic selection.

Don't worry about Usman Salahuddin. He is turning 30 next year and will get chances then. Saud Shakeel . is no way near in Pakistan selectors radar despite performing for quite a few years now.
