I would say a time machine that can only go forward. Because when we are facing a difficult time, I would want to quickly get to a time and situation where everything is good and at peace.

If I wanted to go back in time, I'd want to go back to the early 90s when hip-hop reached its peak under Biggie and Tupac.

They died when I was 5-6 years old so never got to experience this era.

I can't think of any reason to go back. We know pretty much every there is to know about our past, whereas the future would be beyond anything we have or can ever imagined. Even a 100 years from now, it would be a completely different world. Think of the 1920s and compare it to now (keeping in mind that technological growth is exponential in most fields).

It would be great to experience the advancements in medicine, spaceflight, just technology and human thought in general.


On sidenote, there is a pretty well established conjecture in physics that it's not possible to ever go back in time. Travelling to the future on the other hand is easy (well as proof of concept, it gets hard when you want to travel fro any appreciable time). Infact we have already proven/done it.

Something like the series Dark, instead of 33 years make it 1000 or 2000 years. Traveling back will get you in the history books with all sorts of ideas and possible inventions, while traveling in the future has its own charm of finding out about possibilities of the futuristic world. All so fascinating when one starts thinking about it, fortunately or unfortunately present is what we all get.

Only to the future. I surely would like to see how it was once again when I was a kid. But would not want to be in there physically. Our history is full of atrocities committed in the name of race, religion, creed and what not.

I believe the future will be much better with less suffering as Human beings evolve into a much civilized bunch.

I would go back to 1950's.

1950-2000 was a very good period in human history.

It was peaceful and cool.
