Currently sitting on 132 Wickets.

Needs 18 more, and I back him to get them in this series (needs 4/5 per innings). :yshah1

Should aim for 200 at the end of the year.

Chill. :))

He only has 5 more Tests to play this year, assuming reports are true about the BD tour not having any Tests and then obviously assuming that the Indo-Pak series doesn't go through.

Who's the fastest to 150?

SF Barnes. Not possible for Yasir anymore to be the fastest one as Barnes got there in 24 Test matches. Yasir just played his 24th Test match today.

Although it took Barnes 12 years.

Can still beat Steyn, Botham and Ajmal to that mark which would be very good.

Is there any significance to his getting 150 or are we making threads for every 50 wickets?

Wow, Waqar the best ever after Barnes. And, Wasim not in the list. Wasim was a great bowler but I guess Waqar is underrated.

INSHA ALLAH he will end up a Test match great from Pakistan who is the last bowler from Pakistan to get 300 Test wickets nobody i think after 2W's its been long time since we had a senior bowler in Test cricket #longevity
vi
Ajmal and Gul were there but they also lacked longevity

18 wickets is quite a bit but with 2 more tests and I think or hope at least another 3 tests for Pak this year, with Shah playing them all, he should get it before 2018.

I'm going to say 28 tests to the milestone.

Needs 6 out of an available 15 wickets this game.

I think he'll get there. :yasir

I like how no one even bothers to compare him with other inferior spinners now because we know Yasir is the best in the world :afridi Bilal7

Well spotted!

It might also be because the other spinners aren't playing anymore home games these days, and aren't getting any juicy turners to feast on. :ashwin

2 More Wickets Left! He'll be the second fastest bowler to get there by surpassing Waqar if he gets there today.

25 wickets in the series again .. His contributions in WON games for Pakistan have been immense

He was so frustrating today, but congrats. The only match-winning bowler in the team.

Agreed! He was tired . . didn't have the fizz . . was way off his best . .

But, I am very interested in knowing his record in Pakistan wins since his debut

I can't think of more than 1-2 matches which we have won without him bowling well. He became the go-to man almost immediately, which isn't ideal because he is far from perfect. As I was discussing it in the match thread, he needs to find a middle-ground at times. He is either great or poor, which has resulted in some lop-sided results over the last 12 months. We either win or lose badly, which reflects Yasir's own performance.

Beating waqar will be a pretty big thing , bust as he progresses Ashwin tough to catch up.

Yasir has a good shot at beating Ashwin to 200. Needs 5 wickets a Test for the next
10 to become the joint fastest ever. So far he's averaging 5.7

He's only been outright poor in 6 Tests as far as I can recall. The one off Test in England and
the tours to NZ and Aus. Mostly he has been a one man battering ram. Quite extraordinary.

Two in England + one in New Zealand + one in Bangladesh + three in Australia. To be honest, 7 poor Tests is a pretty big number out of a total of 27, but if we examine the remaining 20 matches, we have probably won 17-18 of them due to his performance. It has been quite a unique and as you said, extraordinary career so far. In the long-term, he will need the assistance of a second-spinner though.

Asghar, Gohar, Shadab, and Usama Mir. There is enough options there.

Falls one short. :/

Koi baat nai. Despite not being at his best physically He had an excellent series with the ball and batted well too. Super Effort. Our key player needs younis & misbah attitude wrt fitness. He will go long way InshaAllah.
