This list is not a list of the best, rather those I will turn on the TV to watch. Obviously I am an Indian.

Kohli, Rahul, ABD

Ashwin, Jadeja, Amir

Jadeja? Really?

AB, Warner, Smith

Starc, Rabada, Ashwin

Jadeja? Really?

Guy takes 7 wickets on the last day to win India a match, what's not to like?

The point is that in recent times India has often been in a position where they could win the match and the Ashwin-Jadeja duo have attacked. Like I said, this preference is based on my being Indian. As sensible-indian-fan said, Jadeja sets a trap and waits for the batsman to walk into it.

Liked watching Amir since he took those 3 Indian wickets in the T20. Want to know if he is the real thing.

Ok. My point was even when he takes wickets it a fairly simple wicket to wicket bowling target rather than tricks and magic like Ashwin

Jadeja is criminally underrated as a bowler on PP
Any way my pick
Virat
Root
Warner

Starc
Rabada
Ashwin.

No Starc ?! :srini

Anyway I'm glad someone's making an opinion based on facts.

Starc in Tests is grossly overrated.

Starc bowls a lot of jaffas in LOI cricket which is what you want to see in that fast paced format. I love watching Starc's toe crushers in the LOI format.

In test cricket though, I like to watch a bowler bowling a testing and consistent line outside the off stump. There is no greater joy in test cricket than seeing a conventional pacer or spinner beating the edge of the batsman several times and making him look at sea. Rabada/Broad/Anderson bowl that beautiful line among the pacers while Ashwin does it very well among the spinners. Starc doesn't bowl that consistent line often and is more of a bowler who attacks the stumps ala Waqar. Also his bouncer isn't as potent as Johnson's as well which made the latter such a joy to watch when in full flow seeding fear in the hearts of the batsmen. So I prefer watching Starc in the shorter format than the longer one, although he's a very good test bowler as well.
