Your thoughts on this Indian ODI squad for 2018?

Friends! Would like to know you thoughts on this squad? Our ODI team is still unsettled. The middle order is still unstable, but after the inclusion of Shreyas, I believe he can cement his place in the middle order if he performs consistantly! KL's graph is as confusing as his consistency. His technique is brilliant, but has temperament issues! I have nothing against Dinesh Karthik and Manish Pandey, but I believe we have to start giving more opportunities for youngers to prove their mettle. Based on whatever I have seen so far of Manish Pandey, he doesn't instill confidence. Do you think this team would win the ODI series against SA in SA? Grooming youngsters from 2018 is very important for us to have a settled squad for World cup in 2019. I have a soft spot for Jadeja too considering his brilliant fielding and bowling, but the young leggies are doing a better job than him at the moment! Would like to know your thoughts!

I don't see Bhuvaneswar kumar of any good use in odi side. He rarely picks wicket on flat decks. Has an avg of 37 in odis and he played mostly in favorable condition this year. He will go for alot runs against class batsman on flat tracks for sure. He is not bowler who can win you 2019 world cup. He at best can pick 1 or 2 wickets against class batting line up on flat decks. Same is with pandya he must play as batsman not as all rounder cause i am sure he won't bowl 10 overs in every match in overseas.

Need to get rid of msd and give chance to risabh pant .Manish pandey shuld be there in the team ahead of kl rahul.

He is fine bowler but surely alot overrated specially in odis (good in t20 though). Just wait for overseas tour he will drop down his pace and will look clueless on flat decks.

Very powerful batting line up. Rahul is a must in odi team.
But lack of 6th bowling option is the problem.

I agree with the team.Rahul is a must.With iyer and rahul at 4 and 5 and dhoni and pandya to follow our middle order problems will be solved.Way better than kartik or pandey or yadav.

If the ball swings or seams even a bit he almost always takes 1-2 wickets in opening spell.He is also more economical than umesh and sharma.He can only be replaced by shami who is not always fit and not always economical.

Bumrah, Bhuvi and Hardik is a poor pace attack and you won't win any tourneys with them.

They will either do very well or do very badly.

We need Bumrah, Shami, Bhuvi/Umesh/anyone else as our 3 man pace attack.

Less said about Dhoni, the better.

Bumrah,shami bhuvi would be our choice on away tours.Umesh is too unpredictable and uneconomical.Hardik needs to stay as only allrounder.Without him our batting in lower order will be vastly weakened.

I think his role is to provide that one early breakthrough. Otherwise he does well to keep things quiet early on and build pressure for Bumrah and Hardik to pick wickets on flat decks.

Also he's a very good death bowler. Let's not forget, we used to almost always hand the advantage to opposition in the last 5-10 overs. We rarely see that now.

With flat decks these days, it is not about getting opposition all out but also about controlling E/R.

There are way too many fast bowlers in the FC scene to have Yadav and Shami play ODI. Bumrah is a fine ODI bowler, Hardik is good as an all rounder and a 4th seamer.
