A late flurry of wickets did spoil the day but they need to get the score past 450+ and bat just once here.

Sajid Ali needs to be protected by Abid Ali.

Pakistan are batting as if they arr facing McGrath, Warne and co in Australia.

I think the correct thing to say would be, Watching Abid ALI IS PAINFUL. He's well into his innings and he's batting at a SR less than 50 vs this attack

Very bad batting by Pakistan. Even Rizwan throwing away his wicket.

And fans wanted to play a team of youngsters against Zimbabwe so that Pakistan ends up losing a Test to them.

This is as inexperienced side as you can get.

Don't care how he gets them as long as they're runs. We would be less than 200 without his contribution

Both Azhar Ali and Abid Ali put me to sleep last night while batting together. Seeing limited batsmen pushing the ball around is not fun to watch.

Abid Ali should try to put the bad balls away and get some boundaries ,that's the only way runs will come now. He is rather content in taking a single on the first ball and exposing the tail . Looks like he is only playing for his not out now.

Yep, I noticed that very selfish of him. Not really playing for the team but his own milestones. This is brainless batting, soon as Abid is out I would declare no sense our bowlers getting tired over nothing. Pakistan has more than enough runs.

Pakistan were 248-1 and then reduced to 341-7. And would most likely get bowled out under 400. Very ordnanry end to the innings.

A timid batting approach mixed with poor batting yields these types of results.

We should have been at 600/4 given the start we had, Zimbabwe should not have had any hope whatsoever.

The only batsmen i enjoy watching now in pak lineup is Hassan ali ... :afridi

For me Babar is enjoyable to watch when he gets going. Can’t be upset with him losing his wicket to the Mighty Zimbabweans. Any great batsmen would struggle against this bowling attack.

Cool it lad, this alone is enough to bowl out Zimbabwe twice. What lead are Zimbabwe gonna trouble us with after following on???

You're thinking about the match, I already know that this was enough for Zimbabwe.

The issue is that if Pakistan throw away this type of advantage against a team of any substantial quality, it will be a much bigger problem.

Our tendency to collapse is way too high nowadays, not a single batsman is reliable in a high-pressure situation.

The fact that our fans are doing calculations to decide how many runs are enough shows their minnow mentality.

You don’t play Tests against Zimbabwe because it is not worth it but if you do, you play your rookie players to give them a chance.

If for some reason you do play your main players, you look to assert your dominance because the result of the match is a foregone conclusion.

The way Pakistan has batted in this series would not yield more than 200-250 against a quality attack.

Abid Ali policy as a batsman batting on 150+. Take single first ball of the over and give strike to tailender. Remain not out till the end.

Tha'ts exactly why very few watch it.
That is another debate but if Pujara and in one match Rahanedid not score those ugly runs Indian tours of Australia would have been a different story. I know Zimbabwe are no Australia but in general runs in tests are earned after grit.

Are you serious? Or I missed sarcasm

The problem is we got more than one Pujara in our squad which can be boring to watch.

Pakistan are in a dominating position once again after first test, naive posters panicking as usual.

It’s still a learning curve for them, for a lot of our batters this series will be a mini wake up call. Hopefully our batters can learn consistency from this but it is what it is you have your off days.

I hope that Pakistan get some practise games in the WI series.

Cannot disagree with you there but there are few Babar, Rizwan, Hasan Ali all got out early. Faheem when playing is OK to watch too. I personally like watching Fawad too, others may disagree due to his technique.

Yep, this series was important for Abid although it doesn’t prove much for me of him being a reliable opener.

Not playing enough cricket against international players is one of the main reason Pakistani batsmen are unable to flourish.

Fawad is actually interesting to watch due to his unique technique. Every ball bowled at him looks like a great event.

Chacha nauman is so good at batting 😆...hitting sixes for fun. Lahore Qalandars should have taken a punt...I'm sure he's the Pakistani Shakib ul Hasan

Yep, it’s no wonder they are rusty in the series. Number of matches played matters.

Next year though i believe Pakistan are playing some proper home cricket so that’ll be good.

He is a better test batsman than Hasan Ali. As usual Pak mess up their tailend batting order.

I wonder if Babar will ever play a patient knock like this one from abid

Now I think it would have been a better decision to send Nauman or Sajid as a Night watchman after Azhar was dismissed last evening. It's not because Babar and Fawad deserve to be shielded and pampered during tricky situations but because Nauman and Sajid seem to have better survival technique. So if the Night Watchman had survived last evening, we would have had Babar and Fawad batting all day today . Missed opportunity and wasted wickets at end of the day yesterday.

Yep, perhaps a bad call but you know what plenty of opportunities to come and it’s a learning experience. Once that ball gets old Zimbabwe don’t know what to do.

Pakistani batters will never gain the maturity to understand the requirement they have in being consistent performers.

We probably got enough on the board already for another innings victory, these two need to get a move on no point defending now , start swinging demoralise Zimbabwe even more, pak have never been great at forcing the match or reading the situation, too one dimensional

Let Sir Abid get his double ton first. Next decision only after that.

almost tea into day 2 and we have barely reached 400 against this team on this pitch. This is ridiculous.

And he gets it..what a Champion knock it has been in a match when the likes of Babar have failed.

Abid is actually playing quite fast atm.

His strike rate went down after his 100 not many batsmen would allow that to happen, I’m not asking for boundary every ball but play to the match situation, free your arms, our batsmen go into their shell when they near a milestone because they’re playing for their own scores rather than the team.

Congratulations Abid Ali.

Very good knock. He may not be the most “talented” batsman but he’s a very hard working individual and def seems to have done some work behind the scenes to keep improving.

What is the rush?

Pitch is quite slow and it’s not ridiculous at all because Zimbabwe are not going to win from this position, they are going to implode within 4 days if not 3 just like the first Test.

I would say Pakistan should get atleast 500 here. Still plenty of time left in the Test.

It's Zimbabwe but the stadium isn't very batting friendly place to score runs. Look at those statistics, only 4 Batsmen have double hundreds on this ground.

What is the rush?

Use this time to develop other skills, these tactics of batting two days to crawl to 400 looks good against Zimbabwe and we can all say well done but when we come to england Australia nz etc etc and we need to rotate strike and get runs on the board we have all seen what happens. Can you really say your happy with 400 of 2 days against zim when the ball stops doing something after 20 overs? Regardless of test match or not, we lack that a ruthless streak.

I don't think teams usually declare before 500 during the first innings of a test match .500 is a minimum.
