Finally got the glimpse of one. It's world's most exclusive and perhaps the world's most expensive bat. The brand new ones are over £1000.00

Yeah why is it worth £800.

And I'm a bat fanatic that buys bats reguarly but I wouldn't even pay £500 for it.

£400 max I would pay, that too after I have felt it in the hands, checked the balance/weight and tapped it with the mallet if possoble.

It's insane paying that much on Photos alone.
 
There's lot of grains but there is no gurantree the bat will go like a gun - that depends on the pressing by the maker. It could also mean the bat may lose ping after a while.

And they would be proper gun bats!!!! out of first class and international level cricketers kitbags!

custom made from factory, never bought from the shops
 
Newbery's are notoriously expensive, not even sure if they are worth it; I bought a krakatoa from CoverDrive on PP though I think there's actually a thread on it in this section :)) but the krakatoa was actually pretty decent, great pickup and when you middle the ball it just feels so good

haven't got a ss ton, apologies. Have one custom made piece up in luton. Didn't pick up yet, as have been lazy in all honesty. The weight is 2.7

no sticker what so ever, but the weight, shape, balance and wood is from the same cut as Nasir's bat. If you would like it, happy for you to go and have a look. Please ask MiG and he will be able to pass over my contact details

Dude, I look for a weight around 2'10-2'11 so that is too light for me.

I want a bat with minimal concaving as I want a bigger sweet spot and a slightly lower middle. What do you think would be the best bat for me then?

minimal concaving doesnt mean bigger sweet spot. HS and CA have maximum concaving but bigger sweet spots too.

Slightly lower middle suggests, clean big hits. Best ones are CA and newberry for that. single double karni nahi tumne neeche se jaake chalani hai, to yeh sab se best hai

I am not a hack lol
Yahan uk club/ uni level cricket men waist se ooper ball nahi aata.
Therefore,I need a lower middle for the front foot play
Bu concaving I mean, I dont want the wood to be taken out from the middle and adjusted into bigger edges.
Mashaallah, I middle the ball well, so dont need big edges.
This is why I was looking for ss ton as it has minimal concaving.
By the way, whats tge difference btw round handle and oval shaped handle

Handle shape is just about what feels more comfortable for you, won't affect the way the bat performs,

jab koi tippay karayega to ball waist ke ooper aayegi. Yahan har bowler to aake gaind chorta hai, shoulder ka zor lagane waale bowler hai kahan is mulk mein.

Koi bhi haath ka bana hua balla uthaa lo us mein yeh cheezein nahi hongi. Mass production waali cheez uthaogay to zaahir hai middle ka wood nikaal ke edge hi adjust hongay.

SS mein kaunsa koi farq hai, unhon ne bhi yehi karna hai. Koi sussex ka poora jungle unka to hai ke saari willow mass production ke sweet spots mein lagadein

Yaar round handle or oval handle har kisi ki apni apni requirement hai, whatever suits them. To me oval handle is useful ke shot maarte waqt balla haath mein ghoomega nahi. Round mein balla ghumsakta hai.

Sialkot jaana ho, to khud khare rehke wahan balla banwaalo, woh sab se best hai 20k mein tak behtreen kaam hojaayega

I have used SS bats and they are absolutely great. I have a brand new SS bat which was made for Sangakarra his exact bat he uses.
Also have a Kohli bat which is plain and I use that.

You can't go wrong with a top end SS bat. They are top bats and most are minimum concaving.

SS make Kohlis bat. But he is sponsored by MRF and they stick their stickers on them. Mrf don't make bats.

Sangakarra is sponsored by SS and his bat is stickered up SS master.

Kohli bat I got last year and the Sangakarra I got last month as they hard to get player bats.

Terms of profile they similar. Duckbill toe, massive edges. Low mid. Kohi is oval handle and sangakarra round handle.
Sangakarra one is 2.9 and Kohli is around the same 2.95.

Surprised that kohli being the wristier player uses an oval handle, while sanga the more classical batsman uses a round one

Sangakarra mainly uses round handles as he loves using his wrists and working the ball around the ground.

Kohli has apparently used both round and oval but uses oval handles mostly.

Well personally, I've found it easier to rotate oval handles, in fact it's effortless for me.

I havent used the round handle much, and play with a gunn n more 606 LUNA; which has an oval handle.

They say that the round handle is more susceptible to twist in your hands.

I always loved the look of the kookaburra 'Kahuna', also given the likes of ponting and abcd have endorsed it.

However, now I am not sure, whether I should buy it coz,
1) round handle
2)a lot of concaving that makes the sweet spot smaller.
