During the interview on Thursday, Zardari claimed that he could defeat PTI chairman Imran Khan from any constituency “except for Mianwali where the Nawab of Kalabagh will stand against him”.

“If I get myself shot and gather 25,000 people, where is the popularity in this? He lost against me by 21,000 votes in Sindh. We can fight him politically.”

He alleged that Imran was “making full payments” and promised to hold him accountable.

The former president also said that the government didn’t try to implicate Imran in any case. “If he has to be held accountable, NAB (National Accountability Bureau) will do it. If he did sell the watch then a case would be lodged against him automatically.”

He, however, stated that he wasn’t aware of any of Imran’s wrongdoings.

“Imran’s game was bigger and is still bigger. His game is not based in Pakistan. It’s based somewhere else,” Zardari claimed.

In response to a question on whether he could reach an understanding with Imran, the former president said he could not “run after a man who keeps barking”.

“And even if it has to happen, the executive will do it, not me,” he added.

Very rich coming from a guy who is constantly locked up in Bilawal House enjoying his life long haram earnings. Don't think i have ever seen Zardari roaming in public, addressing a seminar, inaugrating anything in Sindh. He will have to exhaust Sindh's entire budget to defeat Imran in an election.

AZ and his barka. This idiot thinks that he can intimidate everyone, just like the poor of Sindh, he and his crooked party hold hostage. His crooked little carnival barker can't speak the language and he dreams of making him PM with the help of the Americans and the Generals. Dream on thug

That's no achievement tbh when your opposition is someone who sees OBL as a shaheed.

Zardari appears so weak and spent now. He should spend the rest of his life in remembrance of Allah instead of lusting for more wealth and power. I don't think he's even gonna have a say in most likely next years general elections.

Zardari is a very dangerous and feared man. PTI panicked when they saw him in Lahore and automatically deduced he was up to something in Punjab hence the desperation to dissolve the assemblies before he succeeds in buying out people.

Ek Zardari Sab be bhaari is not said without a reason. The man has proven himself to be a king maker in many situations.

Sure he is no fool at all. Having been in politics for such a long period he is as cunning as a fox too. What I am saying is with such ill health it will defo effect him in many ways. IK too must have wizened up to his tactics now. Previously he was too inexperienced to deal with Zardari.

Zardari is an unofficial spokesman of establishment from last 3-4 years. Whatever he say and do depicts the true reflection of our establishment.
His prime goal is to make bilawal PM in next 5-10 years and he is on course.
He has rebuilt his name and party by leading the regime change operation early this year. He has gained votes and somehow broken votes of PMLN in punjab
He is a voice of army and will remain so unless untill he comes into power. He is a fox and is not easy to defeat him. Whatever he is saying now has a lot of value

If he said imran khan can be disqualified or arrested before next general elections so it will happen so. Army is not in good mood with imran khan

Today we celebrate the rich culture & traditions of Sindh going back to the great Indus Valley Civilization. It’s the land of the Sufis & freedom, but sadly, suffering under the tyranny of Zardari mafia. Sindh will rise again against the tyrant to reclaim its greatness & freedom.
— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) December 4, 2022

What a brave soul to call out mafia of Sindh openly. Imran will come back in power with majority this time around

Court summons Zardari in Thatta water supply project case

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Wednesday summoned Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and others in the Thatta Water Supply project case. The court issued notices to the former president and others to appear on December 18.

In January, an accountability court in the federal capital sent back a corruption reference against Zardari to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Islamabad Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir announced the verdict reserved after hearing arguments from both sides. The judge said the corruption reference did not fall under the jurisdiction of accountability court after amendments to the NAB laws.

It is pertinent to note here that NAB nominated Zardari, Ejaz Ahmed Khan and 12 other suspects in the supplementary filed in connection with Thatta water supply scam. The Bureau had not nominated Zardari in the interim reference.

He is just around 35. He has time to learn.

So as soon as the PPP pipe up the cases are opened or threatened to be opened. The PPP enjoyed the holiday but their are bills to pay. They made a terrible decision to back the coup and are now in a total bind

All the mafia come together because they fear Kaptaan. Establishment, the dynasties, businessesmen and everyone else that wants to loot has been glued together. Soon or later something will give as these parasites suck the last drop from the 250mn

Zardari envisions 'national unity govt' post elections
Former president acknowledges Bilawal's talent but says his son lacks experience in political matters

KARACHI:
PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has predicted formation of a "national unity government" in the wake of the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8, 2024. The former president has claimed that no single party is likely to secure a simple majority of 172 seats in the National Assembly.

In an interview with a private news channel, Zardari explained that moving a no-confidence motion against former prime minister Imran Khan was necessary to prevent an economic downturn and hyper-inflation. He criticised the previous PTI government, claiming that it led to the country's isolation on the international stage.

Labeling Imran Khan as the "enemy of Pakistan’s economy," Zardari accused the imprisoned PTI chief of planning to rig elections with the involvement of a retired army official. When the anchor asked if he was referring to former spymaster General (retd) Faiz Hameed, he responded in the affirmative.

Zardari disclosed his refusal to leave Pakistan in May 2021, citing concerns about demoralizing his political workers. He vaguely mentioned an offer during the PTI government to take six ministries. Discussing his support for PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif's candidacy for the prime ministerial position after Imran Khan's potential ouster through a no-confidence vote last year, Zardari said the PML-N had the numerical strength required for the role in the National Assembly.

PPP unparalleled in making sacrifices: Zardari

KARACHI: Former president Asif Zardari has said that the PPP remains the sole party globally to make monumental sacrifices in pursuit of implementing its people-friendly manifestos.

In a statement issued on Friday, Zardari emphasised the PPP's unwavering dedication to easing the burdens of the common citizen, citing the enduring slogan of 'Roti, Kapra Aur Makan' [food, clothes, and shelter] coined by the party's founding chairman, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, as the cornerstone of the party's ethos.

“To realise these values, the PPP has made countless sacrifices, including shedding the blood of martyrs,” Zardari said.

“In the history of the modern world, no other party has made more sacrifices than the PPP to fulfil its [commitments in the] manifesto,” he added.

Zardari also highlighted the party’s journey over the past 56 years, stating that the PPP had continuously moved forward and learned from its experiences. “We are ready to serve the people of Pakistan with a renewed zeal and sense of duty,” he added.

The former president underscored the importance of digitisation of key departments, like food, education, and health, to ensure transparency and good governance. “These departments provide essential services for the welfare of the common man,” he said.

Zardari advocated for the strengthening and enforcement of anti-harassment laws to create a safe work environment for women.

“PPP has always been the champion of women’s rights. It is the party that blessed the Islamic world with its first woman prime minister – the late Benazir Bhutto,” he concluded.

'Political scientist' Zardari says he could be candidate for PM slot

With Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif apparently all set to take a fourth shot at power during the upcoming elections, "political scientist" Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has hinted at joining the race for the coveted slot of prime minister.

In an interview with a private news channel on Monday, the “king of reconciliation” said: “I can be a candidate for prime ministership and Bilawal too. Even Khursheed Shah can be the candidate.”

Without unveiling the name of PPP’s candidate for the top slot, the former president said: “Time will tell who will be the candidate.”

All political parties are gearing up for the general elections set to take place across the country on February 8, 2024, with some expressing fears that the security situation is still not feasible to stage them.

Responding to a question, Zardari claimed he made Shehbaz Sharif premier, adding that he arranged the required numbers to get him elected as the chief executive of the country.

Last month, the PPP stalwart had rallied support for Bilawal to install him as the country’s youngest prime minister.

“We have to make Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari the leader of today and tomorrow,” he said while addressing a public meeting organised on the party’s 56th foundation day in Quetta.

To another query, Zardari said he had closed doors for the presidential system forever, adding, “The presidential system can never be imposed in Pakistan.”

Firing a fresh salvo at incarcerated former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, Zardari said that he ruined the country. The PPP leader also dubbed Khan as “ignorant” and said: “His future depends on his conduct.”

The imprisoned ousted premier, who was removed from power via a parliamentary vote last year, opposed the nationwide drive against the illegal Afghan immigrants to get their support in the elections.

At the same time, the PPP co-chairman accused Khan of “misguiding” overseas Pakistan.

The PTI supremo was brought into power via a “conspiracy”, Zardari said, adding that the conspiracy was hatched by his friends and a “mindset” — which currently does not exist.

“For the mindset, there are actors who create a narrative.”

The former president further said: “He [Khan] would have sold Pakistan and the country would have defaulted if I had not ousted the person.... Sometimes a puppet does not know what its handler is doing to it.”

When asked whether his party would form an alliance with the PTI, he said: “This is what you think. I’m a political scientist. You’re a journalist, you believe in journalism and understand it. You believe what polls are saying; perception is more important than facts. But no, actual facts are more important. We have 400 polling stations in Nawabshah, then how can the PTI cover all polling stations?

To another question about the economic crisis, the PPP leader said that every government would have to introduce a 10-year economic formula to put the country on the right track.

To another query, Zardari “congratulated” the chief justice of Pakistan as the Supreme Court is set to take up the 11-year-old presidential reference on revisiting the controversial death sentence awarded to former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto — the founder of the PPP.

Even if somehow PPP gets the majority. I think their candidate for PM would definitely be Bilawal.

No chance in hell for PP to clean sweep. This guy is hilarious, making such lame statements.

PPP to “make a clean sweep” in Pakistan polls: Asif Zardari

Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari expressed optimism about his party’s performance in the elections, anticipating a clean sweep.

Speaking to the media in Nawabshah, he highlighted the party's bright future and emphasized the people-friendly manifesto put forth by the PPP, noting that no other party has presented such a manifesto.

Asif Ali Zardari expressed hope for a “clean sweep” by the PPP, touting their manifesto as people-focused and highlighting its appeal to voters. He emphasized the party's vision for a brighter future.

In the midst of these discussions, both Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari exercised their voting rights. Bilawal Bhutto cast his vote in National Assembly Constituency NA 194 in Nodero, while Asif Ali Zardari cast his vote in NA 207 in Nawabshah, underscoring the importance of active participation in the electoral process.

As the election unfolds, the PPP remains hopeful for a successful outcome, banking on their commitment to the welfare of the people and the democratic values they uphold.

Zardari gets one-day exemption from court appearance

A banking court has granted exemption to Pakistan Peoples Party-Parliamentarian president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur from appearing in a fake bank accounts case.

Senior lawyer Farooq H. Naik filed applications on Monday before the court on behalf of his clients, pleading that Mr Zardari was unable to appear in court due to his political engagements in Islamabad.

Regarding Ms Talpur, the counsel informed the court that she was unwell.

The court granted them exemption from appearance for one day and adjourned the hearing till April 22.

Mr Zardari, Ms Talpur, and others have been facing cases pertaining to the alleged opening of fake bank accounts and using them for illicit transactions amounting to billions of rupees.

In 2018, a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed by the Supreme Court had identified at least 29 bank accounts as fake and claimed in its report that these had been used for laundering Rs42 billion.

The apex court had in Jan 2019, referred the JIT report and evidence collected to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for further investigation. However, later the cases were transferred to the banking court in Karachi for further proceedings.

So looks like the establishment with the full blessings of the international establishment has successfully gotten away with rigging the most rigged election in Pakistan History and the people of Pakistan have accepted this with no fight back. You can forget about people having any faith in the system, ballot or people ever turning out in such large numbers again and people having any faith in the PTI politicians being able to take on the system ever again.

The Mafia prevails again
