DUBAI: Afghanistan bowling coach Umar Gul revealed that the management has made a strategy against Pakistan captain Babar Azam while also expressing that the plan goes well in their favour.

Bowling coach Umar talked to the pre-match press conference ahead of Afghanistan’s upcoming Asia Cup Super Four fixture against Pakistan and expressed his hopes regarding the strategy against top-ranked T20I batter Babar to go as per plan.

“Babar and Rizwan are world-class players. Definitely, we have planned against them as professionals as we do for the other teams. So obviously, we are hoping that our players can execute those plans against them,” said Umar Gul.

On a question regarding Pakistan speedster Naseem Shah, who impressed the cricketing world with his brilliant performance in the ongoing Asia Cup, Umar praised Naseem’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) performance and termed it a turning point in his success.

“I have worked with Naseem for two years during my coaching tenure for Quetta Gladiators and the way he performed in the last PSL was quite superb and you may call it a turning point for his international career as he made his debut in the white-ball cricket as well,” Umar stated.

“So in my view, he has improved quite well so far physically and also his cricketing skills. Definitely, he is a good bowler and an asset for Pakistan so I wish him good luck in the future. He is improving day by day and the responsibility is also mounting on him,” he added.

Open the attack from the other end with mujeeb or nabi. Babar will surely gift his wicket to them. If not than, bring rashid for one over in the 7th most probably.

Presence of Gul will ensure the players remain friendly with each other also Rashid gets along well with his Qalander boys

Would really surprise me if babar goes 4th game cheaply. Has he ever gone 4 games without a 50 before??

I find Babar's all 3 dismissals are similar - in front of the wicket, too early on the shot.

Too good a player to not sort this out.

Rashid will bring out the best in him.

True. But afghanistan has good spinners than attack up front.

Babar has a habit of gifting his wicket to rashid khan

Babar is India’s and Rashid Khan’s bunny, so it is not bad form. He has failed against them throughout his career across both ODIs and T20Is (except one match only) so this should not be a surprise.

He doesn’t handle the pressure of Pakistan-India matches and the skill and guile of Rashid is too much for him. He is not a world class player of spin bowling.

Up to Babar to find a method against Rashid. If he tries something different he can certainly score big.

This guy is something else.

Babar head to head against Rashid is pathetic to say the least.
If not rashid nabi will get him for sure .
Really need to step up his game & stop being softie for a Change.
Also no hope for fakhar .

Looks like Fakhar, Iftikhar, Khushdil and Asif will have to do all the hard work today whilst Rizwan picks up the plaudits for whatever he does
