Nother series where Pakistan learned.

------------------

Mohammad Rizwan at the post match presentation:

"This was an important series for us. Babar Azam found good touch with consecutive fifties, while Sufiyan Muqeem bowled exceptionally well. In the last match, Naseem Shah rediscovered his rhythm with the new ball.

We must give full credit to New Zealand - all their departments have been performing consistently well for months now. The conditions here are very different from Asian pitches, yet they've adapted brilliantly, just as they did during our home series.

In New Zealand, new ball bowling is crucial. We've deliberately focused on developing our young bowlers during this series - this experience will only make them better."

"When you lose, there aren't many excuses to make. While we had some strong individual performances, New Zealand simply outplayed us overall."

"After Champions Trophy and this series, we'll leave the past. PSL is a big tournament for us in Pakistan, hopefully our nation will enjoy. Hopefully we'll do well in PSL"

Captain rizzu gonna smash them bowlers in PSL.... let's go

The team is a disgrace so is management and thats why they are used to this kind of hiding with no shame even Bangladesh wont get beaten like this overseas..they thrashed us at home and their B C teams thrashed us here there is no consolation

lolol, team full of dunces, need some kinda educational qualification to captain pakistan. pak arent gonna win anything anyway, at least have a captain who doesnt make statements like this.

Crowds and the public will be least interested in the PSL this season because of the teams pathetic performanceg

There was a poll here at the time Babar resigned from captaincy

90% of the Pakistan fans here wanted Rizwan as captain. You are all part of the problem. No point crying now.

Top notch statment from Rizwan.. :rizwan

@Bhaag Viru Bhaag - This is why I urged you to watch only the PSL these days. No matter who wins, Pakistan wins at the end of the day.

Even Kaptaana shares my thoughts. :inti
Awww, is that why the IPL was created too? To ease the sting for some Indian fans because in the end, India always wins and fans like you get their feel good, no whining, happy ending. No thanks, chomu, I am not into circus shows or Pyjama Leagues. Keep that for yourself and your kind. :yk

And it's funny how you are still desperate for my attention, even after I have clearly brushed you off. :inti

did i vote? does making one wrong choice mean it has to be stuck with forever. was rizwans silly post match comments being debated at the time?

this is a team of very poor cricketers, losing games, fans have nothing to do with it. stop being dramatic

What a load of rubbish this thread title is, I saw the whole press conference and there is actually something even worse that Rizwan said that needs to be focused on a lot more.

But hey, if you guys here want to continue with bashing XYZ based on agendas and feeling good about yourselves, then be my guest and keep deluding yourselves further.

Ex-coaches are speaking out openly against you.

Ex-cricketers are destroying you left, right and centre on open media.

Now your current national captain comes over in a press conference and flat out says not much is in his control and you are pretty much doing whatever the hell you want.

I have heard Aqib is also not interested in coaching anymore, just wants to focus more so on player development and NCA.

It’s impossible for anyone to perform in such a volatile and toxic environment.

What was it? What did he say?

I am incredibly surprised that quote has been completely removed from the OP.

Anyways, what he basically said is that there are a lot of issues plaguing our cricket and ‘everybody’ knows about them so he doesn’t want to go into those issues further (indicating the reporter asking the questions was aware of the issues). Lack of game awareness and professionalism in our cricketers is one of the reasons, said that the public shouldn’t be lied to and issues should be acknowledged, rather than portray a picture that everything will be fine when it won’t be.

Said that there’s not many things under his control and neither is he consulted, the management does what they want to.

Can’t stand Rizwan myself, as his arrogance in not acknowledging modern cricket is one of the reasons we find ourselves in this mess today. But the press conference wasn’t about the quote in the thread title, it was blatant how embarrassed, humiliated and frustrated he was.

Ok, I just saw that. It’s a bit hypocritical isn’t it from him to say these things? When it was Rizwan who knows his issues as a white ball batter but doesn’t address them himself? When knowing his T20 opening is holding Pakistan back, and that there is a proper T20 opener in the side now with Saim, what was this guys reaction to embracing this new move?

What is he doing right now Hogging the number 4 spot with guys like Saud, Kamran, Agha and Tayyab batting after him?

You can’t speak of game awareness and outside issues whatever when you yourself do not acknowledge it for your own part as the problem.

I doubt Rizwan has any authority on selection matters and I believe he might have played his last game in a Pakistan shirt after this little outburst.

His lack of acknowledgment for modern day cricket is frustrating though, yes.

Lol

Rizwan has street power like every typical Mullah in Pakistan. You can’t get rid of him unless he wants to go himself.

Shaheen and Rizwan are in trouble with the PCB, while Babar bhai is cozying up and sticking around somehow.

There’s a lot going on behind the scenes that most of us have no idea about. This is barely a team, it’s a bunch of mediocre cricketers focused on their own individual performances.

^^ They adapted to the conditions? Bro its their home den, what do you mean? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

@Rana What is wrong with him?

Maybe he thought NZ is playing on the same planet as he is on in his head.

So this is why you lost old boy, you were dreaming of the PSL :yk3 #MolviGreed101

Well Indian fans have nothing stinging them these days as we have won two ICC titles in 9 months but still IPL is being watched because we just love watching this sport..

But for you, it's different though. There has been nothing but phiaintas and "lurn" for you in the recent past so you can get some respite in watching the PSL so that you can cheer for a Pakistani team winning every game. Finally a win-win scenario for you unlike the constant "lurn-lurn" you are getting in international cricket.

Think about it. :inti

Outside of politics: the Most misunderstood man in Pakistan probably. Feel for him.

Feel for Rizwan, been a while since he's been able to thank the Lord, friends and relatives for delivering a victory.

Now best he can come up with: hope we all enjoy PSL.

This whole series he has been thinking how he's been unlucky to stats pad at home in champs trophy and then how he's going to bash the best bowling talent in upcoming PSL.

No wonder the Newzie C squad made mincemeat of Pak team.
:inti

Anyway offtopic, but I am supporting Lahore Qalandars. Not because I'm a part of some lobby but Lahore is my birthtown so might as well support them.

10 years of what? Constantly reaching semi-finals and finals with consistent top class performances, SENA Test series wins , Asia cup wins etc? You are actually comparing that to Pakistan's utterly minnowsque group stage exits in the last 5 tournaments and their bottom place finish in the WTC 2023-25 table? :viru

You really are a delusional breed aren't ya?:inti
I wasn't comparing anything. I just gave you a taste of your own medicine. How did that go down? Anyway, you are the one who dragged me into this thread, tagging me like some obsessed guy craving attention. Like I said, I don't watch Pyjama Leagues. :yk :inti

I can't believe he said this.

It just epitomises this whole tour. Unprepared, uninterested, timid & pointless.

You missed an important thing..he said all successful people leave the past...he thinks he is succesful in this series..so delulu..

Guy should be booted, non performance, no motivation, another guy just getting a free ride just for the sake of it.

Rizwan did well as captain in Aus and SA ODI series. He should have resigned from captaincy when thick tank decided to select playing XIs for him (before tri series). Now he is as responsible for the blame as Aqib and co.

I still can’t believe he said this.

One of the most braindead and tone deaf statements of all time.

Does Riz really consider the pointless franchise leagues on par with playing and being successful for PK. I hope i have misunderstood

The thread title has been made by removing other words. He said it in the context if Pakistanis enjoying it

I just watched it now.

It's definitely a bad look, he said "Inshallah hopefully we will do well in the PSL."

It could be a language issue and contextually he meant something else, but they'd be better off just answering in Urdu then because this is a shocking statement from a captain who has been whitewashed.

What do you think of his offside game? I mean someone should ask him what he's doing to improve his shot range.
I have no issues. Every player has strengths and weaknesses. Riz simply needs to put the focus back on batting and convert those starts into big scores. The problem is that there has been too much drama off the field which has been very unsettling. Bowlers have also been beyond poor throughout the NZ tour in bowlind friendly conditions which has put too much pressure on batters.

Obviously you want batsmen to chase 250 every game so Rizwan and Babar look heroes.

The problem in white ball cricket is if Rizwan doesn't improve his shot range on the offside, bowlers will just block his scoring areas by bowling outside his off-stump.

He can get away with it in red ball cricket because you are meant to leave most of those deliveries.

I'm not aware of any drama off the field. Not doubting you, but I just haven't stumbled across it.

Bowlers have been poor and in the first ODI, Pakistan should've bowled NZ out for under 250, as there was prodigious swing on offer during the first 20 overs. I didn't watch the other games, so I can't comment on whether the conditions were the same for the rest of the series.

That is not true. You are obviously ignoring the fact that Pakistan bowling attack is performing below minnow level.
