Reading too many nonesense statements by players and experts about Pakistan losing its first game in most ICC tournaments and going on to achieve something.

Today wasn’t a ‘loss’, it was a joke! It was a surrender! I would expect this kind of performance by an amateur club’s 2nd, 3rd XI side! We have been exposed to the whole world! Watch England bounce the living daylights out of our top 8-9 players from the word go! Let’s face it guys, we are unlikely to pick up from this performance. Harris Sohail surrender! Babar Azam goes into a shell, gets a chance and surrenders! Imad Wasim surrender! Hassan Ali surrender! Everyone just surrendered!

These statements show the sad mindset of our people who are still living in the past. Yes, there are chances that teams and individuals get hurt by a loss and stand up and give their best out of shame and will to improve but this team is losing since last months in quite a similar fashions against several teams, and no they will not stand up and become world champions after this.

I am afraid on Monday we will get battered by England big time if we bat first you will see scared and sad batting and if we bowl they will post a massive total and get us out cheaply.

We had four of our greatest cricketers of all time in 1992 in Imran, Miandad, Wasim and Inzamam.

92 comparisons are just clutching at straws.

Tired of the 92 comparisons as well. This is why India is years ahead of us. We pakistani's keep dwelling in the past.

It is an easy way out when you can't answer back with logical explanations.

One of those doesn’t belong in that 4... low tier 1 or tier 2

Inzi was no one by then even Babar is better than him at this stage.

Imran,Miandad were all aged and on their last legs

some fans has just no clue... more thrashing is coming pakistans way. Duds like harris sohail n imad wasim being played you dont expect much.

Can Babar ever deliver under pressure like Inzy did in 92 SF ?

Imran and Javed on their last legs were still better than this dispirited collection of mediocrity.

For deluded people going on about the 1992 World Cup, also worth noticing in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy we also lost our 1st game vs West Indies courtesy a batting collapse when batting first...and we lost both our remaining games. Hopes this shuts people up.

Corned tigers rubbish held our cricket back in the 2000s.

Fully agree with this. Why can't we just accept that we aren't good enough? Before making such statements people should think about the strength of other teams. We always lose to India and Australia, we will more than likely be beaten by England. You really expect us to beat the rest of teams ?

You know your crap when you hope comes from superstitions.

We also lost our first game of 2007 WC to West Indies.... we all know how it ended back then...

We also had a ex South African coach ad our coach back then

Two constant comparisons from virtually everyone-
1992 World Cup
2017 Champions Trophy

Can we please bury both of them in the past & look honestly where we stand now?

Agreed. I'm really tired of these comparisons. Even in 1992 WC rain saved us two times. We were lucky at that time. People say Imran Khan is an inspiring leader but then I wonder what happened in the world cups before 1992. He's just considered great because we luckily won a world cup under him. When in reality he's average captain. He had amazing team mates which is the reason we got close.

The current team has nothing to make a comeback. I hope I'm proved wrong because I want them to win but its difficult. Babar is the only decent player but he's not good enough.

Pakistan team dressing room tonight will not be a happy camp. Everybody would hate to be in that dressing room. And I think team knows that. Everyone who played today let their team, their fans their country down. If they don't man up in the remaining games and play chicken hearted like they did today and not like cornered tigers we know previous Pakistan teams of then they should better all resign at the end of the world cup.
I hope to see my team fight and fight hard in the next games and I hope their fans support them in this difficult time. But I will not give up on this team until its 'The End'.

Been seeing this since the 2015 WC.

Glad to see this thread.

Look I'm absolutely fine if Pakistan have been in good form, winning games and then suddenly this happens in the 1st game, then it's ok, you can have such comparisons but here we are talking about a team which has lost some 20 of their last 23 games!!! Even associates have a better record than that!

The other thing is that none of these players inspire a turn around, I mean I've seen them losing match after match after match and nothing has changed, no change in game plan, no spirited fielding stuff, no intent while batting, yesterday also there looked no intent to somehow battle it out for 50 overs and see how it goes. Bowlers simply concede 350+ against England every game and there looked no improvement or change of plan in any game, they just looked clueless.

So there is nothing honestly which inspires a turnaround atm.

You can;t compare 1992 with this team. That team's captain was a leader, unlike this team .
