Looks like these rankings don’t care about averages and 50s

hasaranga being under rated, overall i think he's a better bowler than narine, and significantly superior as an all round package. if he was a big 3 bowler hed be considered much higher. jofra archer is being overrated, his t20i stats ain't special.

my top 5 would be
rashid
buttler
warner
hasaranga
shaheen

Good list but is Narine playing international T20 cricket enough to be holding no.3 spot? He didn't played against us and we played a lot against Windies this year.

Bumrah, Suryakumar and Pandya the elite members to make this list from India. :inti

Rizwan at #20 and no Babar. Beautiful.

Disappointing to see a nothing player like Shadab at #13 though. He has arguably been the biggest conman in international over the last 3-4 years.

Shadab is well deservingly in the list. He is like Rashid and Hasarnaga.

The two statistician delights don't merit a place as proved through their stat padding analysis on other thread and unsurprisingly we can see only one of them get into top 20. :inti

Need to use this ranking as the bench mark instead of the ICC rankings that only care about runs without context in a format like t20. These rankings care about impact and contribution toward victory.

This seems to include domestic T20 performances and hence is not a great ranking system (Narine hasn't played international T20 cricket in years)

Decent list but I am surprised to see no one from South Africa there. I would definitely have Miller in my list.

No player from NZ either.

He is nothing like them. They are miles better leg-spinners.

Miller is the biggest miss from this list in my opinion. He is going through the peak of his career.

From NZ, Conway should have been there.

He is good, almost did a Afridi of 2009 to Australia last year in semi final before your best bowler choked in death overs and one of the fielder dropped a catch.

Sounds about right.

No Babar and Rizwan at 20.

I can accept that.

One common thing among most batsmen in this list is they are big six hitters which makes them impact players. Can turn the game on its head in a matter of few overs. Which is why Miller's absence is big. Tim David is very very new compared to Miller.

Surprising inclusion of Shadab over Shakib. There is no way Shadab is better than Shakib.

Shadab is one of top 3 t20 spinners imo( Rashid, Hasaranga). Add his batting and fielding and he gets into every single t20 team.

I would push Narine, Bumrah and even Rashid a bit lower.
And push Shaheen, Warner and Maxwell higher up.

If you purely go by bowling You got Zampa, Shamsi, Mahraja ahead of him. Shakib is no.2 all rounder in T20I, no.1 all rounder in ODI. Why would anybody not want him?

None of Zampa, Shamsi and Mahraj are better bowlers than Shadab. Zampa is close but Shadab is a bigger wicket taker with similar amount of control.

You are giving me ICC rankings now? Lol. We have seen enough of him to know what he is about.

In t20 wrist spinners are always much more useful than finger spinners.

Including Sunil Narine is like including Muralitharan lol Both stopped representing their country.

Shadab travelled in parts like South Africa, England even Zimbabwe (close to 10 an over). Look at Shakib's economy in all the countries. Apart from 8 in England everywhere in the world under 8. Shadab's stats look good due to UAE wickets.

These micro stats don't mean much at all. I know which bowler I'd much rather have in t20 of the 2.

On his day, Maxwell can do the impossible. David has to perform more in internationals for me.

yes. very low sample at this point. It took a while for others to figure out Maxie has issues against leg spinners. They will need time to locate Tim David's weakness.

Hey it is all individual take. Not like they are going to assemble and play :) I just said he would have been a better pick. Being from a loser team they decided to ignore him as he is not exactly the darling of league cricket like Rashid Khan to get all the attention. Also he went missing a lot recently. But as a T20 player his record is very good.

These are based on CricViz's Impact Ratings.

Bit of a reality check for the PAK fans who believe batting averages are everything in T20.

Lol what is Pandya doing there? And when was the last time Sunil Narine even played an international game?

David Miller
Adam Zampa
Haris Rauf

These 3 would walk into a T20 world XI today but here not even in the top 20?

Only thing positive about this list is that it has ignored low strike rate consolidators like Kohli, Malan, Babar etc.

They should do one that only includes T20I performances for the past year.

Obviously this has a massive assumption that consolidators don't play an important role to play in T20s today. Not all games are run fests played on highways against lolly pop bowling. Look at the last 100 games, at least 50 were low-scoring affairs (chasing < 150) where consolidators won you games. Kohli/Babar/Malan/Smith/Williamson/Hendricks have a very important role to play, which is why every team carries them. Is every team's think tank wrong and Pakpassion posters right? I dont know...

Another interesting analysis from cricviz on batting against high pace

Pakistan have an interesting distribution of players with Khushdil Shah surprisingly coming out as their best player against high pace. Asif Ali and Haider Ali score very quickly but get out often. Concerningly Shadab Khan, Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Mohammad Nawaz and Iftikhar Ahmed are among the weaker players on the graphic.

Khushdil is good. He is capable of being a game changer

He’s just taking too long to try anything

When or where did I say consolidators are not needed in T20 cricket? Of course they are needed to give the batting lineup some solidity ,(particularly at the top), but I'm talking about people who call these consolidators as "best in the world" and things like that based on the stat/avg based ICC rankings. Consolidators should only play a supporting role in a T20i Innings and let the dynamic players do the bulk of the hitting. They should never be considered as "best players" due to their low risk low reward style of play...

Pretty accurate IMO Thank GOD there's no Babar in the list, he won't be in my top 50 either. Rizwan at 20th is ok as well. Don't agree with Narine at#3 because he last played T20I in Aug 19

Some posters making this list look like the Bible. Lulz.

And rather than feeling embarrassed by the fact that their so called aggressive dashers can never, ever even get close to any list- they decide to take a dig at one of the world's most elite batsman.

Sorry state of affairs.

Anyway, Babar and Rizwan will deliver on the field, while the nutters (middle order and their fans) chat away making excuse after excuse, and scoring their aggressive runs in the nets.

Got it! Fair point and aligned on that. I do like this ranking more.
Sorry I assumed you have that opinion as so many posters on the forum seem to think that T20 cricket is one dimensional

As always, you have comprehension issues. Rizwan is on the list anyway so he's way more valuable to the team than biryani is to Sharjeel.

The point is you're defending a corrupt cricketer and giving him more importance over the No1 ranked player in the world. And going as far as to say that the corrupt player plays for the team, while the one who has been winning matches on his own is impact less.

It's one thing having an opinion and harp about it. It's completely another if it's a highly stupid one.

Jaa bhai

Go and distribute mithai for Rizwan’s no.1 ranking which is having NO IMPACT whatsoever on Pakistan’s chances!

Satisfying list! Rizwan will be displaced by real team players Fin Allen and Conway very soon too!

Narine shouldn't even be considered as he hasn't played international cricket in 3 years.
Russell hasn't played international cricket this year and his bowling is nowhere as good as it used to be.
Archer hasn't played international cricket for 18 months now.
Bumrah plays very little t20is these days.
David has literally only started playing t20is for Australia 25 days ago.
Hetmyer has been ineffective in t20is so far.

Better to call this list as most dangerous players rather than greatest.

If Narine makes it, so should Munro, Faf and Pollard.

Rabada, Miller, Lewis, Zampa and Rohit should be there as well.

Don’t listen to him. He’s been hating on Shadab from the beginning. He’d only be happy if the list was made up of 18/20 Indians.

Check no.9th ranked batsman in ICC ranking and the opposition he played against.

I agree with 19 out of 20 names here.

How's Narine on this list? He barely plays any international cricket. I don't remember the last time he played for West Indies.

Because as the list clearly states, it's "T20" ratings not "T20i"
T20 includes all the t20s, including domestic leagues.

Of course, its all very subjective but you know the saying - between the lines the truth always comes out in the end.

How can Misbah ul haq's name not he there? Misbah was one of the greatest t20 batsmen Pakistan ever produced. I am guesing this is of the current lot and greatest t20 players of all time

Rashid Khan being no.1? His stats are against low ranked teams. He hasnt given match winning performance against a top ranked team in a tournament.

No. Afghanistan don't play decent sides then why should Rashid be no 1. Also, Babar should be there too.

It does, and it includes Rizwan lol
He’s only 1 of the 3 openers list except Warner and Buttler.
