There is a brilliant analysis from Nasser Hussain on the Sky Sports studio on where he says the game was won and Lost today and having watched the match from start to finish I totally agree with him.

Indian batsmen played with soft hands in the middle overs and rotated strike so much better with Pakistani spinners in particular happy to give them away in stark contrast Pakistani batsmen played with much harder hands and found it harder to find the gaps to milk the singles.

He had high praise for Harris Sohail but basically illustrated he had the same problems as well later on in his innings.

Really until the rotation of strike problem is sorted out then Pakistan will always struggle to setup good totals against good teams or chasing down decent scores. It's been happening now for a good 7/8 years at least.

Nasser Hussain and Andrew Strauss are brilliant analysis. To further add, they contrasted Misbah's and Dhoni's on field captaincy. Misbah allowed to many easy singles to Kohli, Dhawan and Raina. Misbah didn't even bring a strike bowler against Raina when he first came to the wicket and allowed him easy singles as well. In contrast Dhoni is a much smarter on field captain, he knows the right fielders to position in the key areas in the field, he knows where to put the fielders in the ring to ensure that not only they are able to stop the singles and also the boundaries. The captain and the bowlers are able to bowl with such sound plans, the bowlers bowl so many dot balls that the batsmen come under pressure and lose their wickets as a result resulting in more wickets due to the score board pressure.

The Pakistani team has struggled really badly with rotating the strike since the departure of Inzamam and Yousaf, i doubt the team management can fix this problem in one day, the players just don't want to work hard and improve because it is getting really tiring to see the same old crap, the same old 90's out dated strategy of dot balls in the first 15-20 overs and gambling with this strategy of keeping wickets in the hand for the last 10 overs hoping for a blazing finish. The game has evolved, other countries have evolved but we refuse to get out of our comfort zones and evolve.

Dhoni is a smart and fast thinker in the field. Misbah in contrast is just too reactive, he comes to the field with a piece of paper and a set plan that he refuses to change or alter stubbornly in the face of changing circumstances.

I would like to know what Grant Flower is doing about this? What is the coaching staff doing about this? What do the players do to improve upon this in the nets?

Even our running between the wickets was dreadful compared to the Indians, where they took 3, we took 2 and where they took 2, we took 1. They are much fitter stamina, energy wise compared to our team which reflects in their fielding.

I am actually waiting for this WC to be over so that some heads in both the PCB and the coaching staff can roll.
