This is the first time that all four places in the Champions League/European Cup and Europa League/Uefa Cup finals will be filled by one country, ENGLAND!

Congratulations to Chelsea and Arsenal for qualifying for the Europa final tonight!

Two brilliant saves from Kepa to pull Chelsea through and it nice to see Hazard finish it off with possibly his last kick at the bridge.

England is the home of football. We have more people attending games than anywhere in else in the world, such is the passion of football in England.

Bring us the World Cup after 2026, we need the biggest trophy to return home.

Surely this is the first time all 4 finalists in Europe come from one country? If someone can confirm this?

Just like the World Cup came home

European Football > WC

Besides, dependent on what side of the bed you woke up; you will never taste the
nationalism glory this beautiful game brings peasant :yk3

Amazing week of football!!!

On the cricket thread there was this thread about lack of world cup hype,
Well this week has proven why...

Four English teams in the two premier European competitions is just unheard of...
Forget England, has any European country ever done that?

As an avid Gooner i’m glad we’re sending off one of the legends of the PL in cup final against his former team!! Doubt anyone could have written it better... Chech vs Chelsea!!!

Wonderful achievement indeed. Money is obviously a huge factor, even the mid-tier and small clubs in the Premier League have more resources compared to their counterparts in other leagues.

The future is looking bright at the international level too. The 2018 World Cup was not a fluke for England - they have a core of excellent young players who can hopefully win a trophy at some point.

England has the best league in the world, but majority of the players in the Premier League are not English. When it comes to the international competition they are not a Top 5 Football nation, maybe not even a Top 10. They won one World Cup, that too by cheating. They are not winning another one anytime soon.

This is the first time that all four places in the Champions League/European Cup and Europa League/Uefa Cup finals will be filled by one country, ENGLAND!

Remember, last year’s top 2 & this year’s champions are not among these 4 teams.

If we are celebrating this as an English victory, then it is also a celebration of multiculturalism and being part of Europe. You can be damn sure that it could never have happened if we had Brexiters in charge back in the days we decided to become part of the EU. Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson are probably not celebrating too much.

On a side note, not only is it a great achievement to have got to two finals, the wins for the CL final places were two of the most amazing turnarounds in the cup's history. Both Liverpool and Spurs looked dead and buried after the first legs.

Don't forget we are in the nation's league semis. A golden era awaits English football. I hope the national team manage to win a trophy.

We can thank these NON English players for their contributions

Rooney: We’d have won everything with Pep

Wayne Rooney believes England’s ‘Golden Generation’ could have “won everything” if they had worked under a manager of Pep Guardiola’s calibre.

Rooney, who has 120 caps, competed at six major tournaments with England but never progressed past the quarter-final stage.

However, he believes England's disappointing record was down to coaching rather than a lack of talent.

"I watch [England] with excitement and happiness when they are winning," he told the Wayne Rooney Podcast.

"You look at our team 10 years ago and arguably we had the best group of players in world football.

"Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Ashley Cole, [Steven] Gerrard, [Paul] Scholes, [Frank] Lampard, [David] Beckham, myself, Michael Owen - our team then, if we had a Guardiola with that group of players, we'd have won everything, no doubt about it."

Rooney is England's record goalscorer with 53, four ahead of Sir Bobby Charlton.

But he believes current England captain Harry Kane - who has scored 26 goals for England - is capable of overtaking that record.

"I never take goals for granted, I love scoring them. Once I got to 35 for England, I could feel the record getting close," Rooney said.

"I don't think it'll stand for 50 years like Bobby Charlton's, I think Harry Kane, possibly the next two or three years will... He's a fantastic goalscorer and his record for England is fantastic.

"When I got the record and then went back for my last game I said it would be an honour to go and present him like Bobby Charlton presented me with the golden boot and I'm sure it won't be before too long."

After years of being dominated by La Liga teams, they have one good year, and EPL fans start jumping up and down and become arrogant.
