2019 World Cup - Crowd Watch

Very disheartening to see this. Big semi final for England and the camera men cant hide the vast majority of empty seats. Why would ICC care though? They have already made maximum revenue by selling out the seats months in advance to passionate Indian fans who took the gamble of their team reaching the SF at this venue. Money made, who cares if cricket looks weak!

Seriously, ICC needs to do something about this. ICC tickets must go on sale according to the venues being confirmed even if it comes at a massive hit. Tired of Indian fans completely sabotaging main events by somehow having a strange advantage in all ICC ballots for tickets.

Agree with you 100%.

Imagine if I convinced a non cricket lover to watch this match - hyping it up that it is a semi final knock out match between the two biggest rivals in cricket and then he sees this - I would have nowhere to hide to bury my embarrassment.

Also, tired of ICC cashing in on one India v Pakistan match every event because its their money that is involved but not having the spine to get PCB their deserved money by not having a strong stance against the BCCI's discriminatory policy against the PCB.

Seats may also be empty due to weather? The fact that it is a week day? And it is still early, so let's see how it goes.

How can you sell all the SF tickets before group matches are going on?

ICC is pretty incompetent

I must say slowly but surely - the empty seats are getting filled up. Good. By the time England come on to bat - I am hoping for a full house.

This World Cup has been a success, attendance-wise. The only poorly attended game has been Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan early in the group stages. Every other game has had 85%+ of the seats filled.
