What's new

44-year-old showing to others how to bat under pressure! Misbah-ul-Haq is back!

Blistering innings. chased 190 odd target with ease :akhtar

Long time no see!

Also, funny thing.

I had predicted before the PSL start that this time, Zalmi will win because Misbah is there. And ISLU will do really bad, as they lost Misbah.

Why?

When he's in the playing XI, you actually can see him bat, field, etc. But even when he's not in the XI, he guides the players, build tactics, strategy.

Zalmi is winning the tournament this time.

He was definitely not the tactician or the strategist that you make him out to be. Just have a look at his captaincy throughout the Australian tour. Calm demeanor does not equal tactical genius.

I sympathize with Misbah's decision to play on and earn big bucks. He started off very late in Cricket, and he, his wife and family have seen very tough, struggling times and from a human point of view he has every right to earn big bucks. But the guy is educated enough to make a living as an analyst for tv channels. He is a very boring and dull personality on first look, but I have heard from people who have met him that he surprisingly has a very under rated sense of humor and can be more fun company than you would imagine, there is no reason why with the passage of time and experience he cannot make it as an international commentator where you get paid handsomely as well.

Look at Ramiz Raja, his real name and recognition is being the global face of Pakistan in the commentary box and he is making money on his Youtube channel and I have read it nets him close to $25,000-$30,000 a month with his number of subscribers going up. Even Misbah can open his own Youtube channel. There is no real reason why he should be blocking a youngster anymore.

The buzz is lost, and he might feel like he would lose pedigree.
Inzi, Imran, Wasim and Waqar, none of them took commentary full and kept coaching or something else till they succeeded.

Zalmi have a very good record with or without Misbah. Along with United, they have been the most sucessful franchise so far.

If they go on to win again, it will be rich to give Misbah credit. Had he gone to a franchise like Qalandars and turned their fortunes around, he would have been given a lot of credit.

Do you reckon Qalandars' fortunes can be turned around if Misbah joins them? Especially in regards to their batting woes.

He is the ideal batsman for their middle-order. However, I am not sure if he has another PSL in him. Zalmi was the only team that was willing to give him a chance this year.

I personally never rated Zalmi high enough, never certain about their ability to win the tournament.

Qalandar despite having big names is indeed struggling. Misbah can be of great help there, but I doubt he'll change the team after just one season.

Problem with Qalandars is also Aqib.

Just watching the PZ team you know straight away that the owner has an immaculate bond with the players, coaching staff, team management and that the team has a heck of a time off the field. You see videos of many team dinners, outings and entertainment. They appear to be the classic team which follows "Play hard, Practice Hard and Party harder".

No surprise they appear to be the most successful team from a fanbase point of view.

Take it how you want dude. I presented my argument with stats. Meanwhile you're trying to compare Misbah to MS Dhoni.

Ok bro.

Sigh.

Okay.

I dont blame you for the weak interpretation.

Have a nice time believing Misbah led us to Mohali loss.

Most people believe in falsehood anyways.

Misbah - has another chance to help Zalmi tonight but think he cant handle the high run rates.

Misbah, wasted 17 balls and left. What else you expect from an almost 50 YO man.

lamo when the asking rate is 14 the guy looks to play forward defense. I don't know why teams bowl spinners to him. He's dreadful against pace couldn't last more then 2 deliveries against husnain,

those balls he faced was the differenc bw cictory and defat for both teams.
