I was watching an old clip of new chief selector Muhammad Wasim and this is what he said:
6 players he believes are ready for Pakistan are:
Khushdil
Saud
Rizwan Hussain
Ali Imran
Hasan Mohsin
Nabi Gul
These are his thoughts regarding each one of them:
1) Khushdil Shah. He scored 3 centuries in a row in domestic. Can hit sixes effortlessly through midwicket and straight. Plays spin very well and uses his feet well. His base is very strong and he can hit sixes stood in the crease. Great power hitter. Can keep wicket and can bowl
2) Saud Shakeel. According to Wasim hes best batsman in domestic including old and new players. (Must rate him on par with Babar)
Technically correct, good square of wicket, cover drive, cut shot, midwicket. Cant hit sixes but makes up for it with boundaries. Good fielder and left arm spinner too. Wasim unhappy he was taken on a tour as a number 3 but was put lower down the order.
3) Rizwan Hussain as opener. Young and strongly built. Can hit sixes. Plays with aggressive mindset and better technically than fakhar. Can take advantage of power play
4) Nabi Gul. Plays fearless and is young. Whenever wasim watches him hes impressed. Can hit sixes and finish a match. Very powerful. Needs minor adjustments in batting but players like him are needed in a lineup ( who are dimagh say tagry)
5) Hasan Mohsin. Best modern batter in Pakistan
. Great improviser. Sweeps and reverse sweeps, scoops etc. Can play every shot. Can win matches at the end and score centuries. Fantastic fielder. Bowls beautiful out swing.
6) Ali Imran. Very aggressive and can make use of power play. Can play long innings and score centuries. Bowls in 130s which is more than enough for an all rounder.
He said we need to bring new players and not bring back the ones that have failed in international cricket. From this comment i think he will discard Asad Shafiq.
Wasim says these are ready now. Your thoughts?
