Hey everyone,
I wanted to start a thread about a YouTuber I have been following for while now, Syed Muzammil Official. If anyone here follows him, I’d love to hear your thoughts! I find his views to be very balanced and insightful, especially when compared to other popular figures like Dhruv Rathee.
Syed Muzammil is not just a YouTuber; he’s also a political scientist and hosts his own show called “Statecraft” on Express News, which adds a layer of credibility to his content. His approach seems to resonate well with a diverse audience, and I appreciate how he tackles complex issues with clarity.
What do you all think? Do you agree that his perspective is more nuanced?

A example of couple of his videos:

Why India Agreed to Ceasefire

Pakistan Cricket’s IQ Problem | WC Failure

Let’s discuss!

I was under the false impression that many Pakistanis had become open minded political thinkers and honest analysts but the May 2025 skirmish with Pakistan exposed a hell lot of them as just fake people who became dictatorship's puppets in wartime.

Many Indian youtubers however maintained their Pre War stance.

If that is true then why is the govt of Pakistan finding it necessary to ban these channels?

Islamabad court revokes ban on 11 YouTube channels

A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Thursday nullified a magistrate's ruling that had blocked 11 YouTube channels.

In June, Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah directed authorities to block 27 well-known YouTube channels accused of circulating content labelled as "anti-state".

The closure of the channels was requested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

The district and sessions court has been hearing the appeals challenging the ban on the YouTube channels.

Judge Afzal Majoka announced its reserved verdict on appeals filed by 11 YouTubers against the closure of their channels.

The judge accepted 11 appeals, declaring the judicial magistrate's order to shut down the YouTube channels null and void.

During today's hearing, Judge Majoka expressed displeasure at the NCCIA prosecutor, saying: "You have started taking over our work; I will never allow this."

He further questioned under which authority the channels could be blocked, while remarking that efforts were being made to malign judges.

In the previous ruling issued in June, the court noted: "In the light of facts explained and evidence presented by the enquiry officer, this court is convinced that the subject matter constitutes offences punishable under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act [Peca] and Penal Laws of Pakistan."

The court had said it was satisfied with the evidence submitted by the NCCA and permitted legal action in accordance with the law.

It may be noted that the contentious Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Peca) (Amendment) Bill 2025 was signed into a law in January, with new definitions, the establishment of regulatory and investigative bodies, and stricter penalties for disseminating "false" information.

I hate modern era YouTube. Guys like MrBeast, Logan Paul just don't do it for me and I personally dont enjoy their content nor understand why their content is even liked so much in the first place.

For me YouTube lost its identity after the pewdiepie era. 10 years ago 2015, we had very few corporate channels. Vevo channels weren't that popular, corporate channels like wwe barely posted on YouTube and YouTube itself had little to no ads. Hardly any, just 1 or 2 max.

It was more fun when we had Home Videos and actual YouTube running the show and not million dollar empires with a billion employees running.

I believe FB also went this route. In 2006 it was a fun place for family, now its juat a corporate hype machine with a billion ads and reels.

On topic though my favourite YouTuber use to be AVGN under the name cinemassacre however all old gen uoutubers died off as they got older.

Guys like avgn, Pewdiepie, Markiplier are still around but they lost their soul as they hit 35-40.

They were mostly solo or 4-5 team member channels and obviously burn out would happen unlike today where channels like T series can go on forever.

Youtube is unbearable now due to endless ads. Youtube was fun before the influencer era, after which people started to use youtube as a career, and began filling their videos with endless ads to generate revenue.

I watch videos on YouTube. I don't really watch YouTubers specifically. If there is something interesting I will watch it. It's very rare that I will seek out a video of a youtuber after a specific event.

If your job is to create content then quality usually suffers, because you can't ever stay quiet, you have to comment on everything. That's why I don't really put any "content creators" on a pedestal

Cold fusion
Huberman Labs
Big Think
Behind Asia
Not just Bikes

I like youtube but I’m afraid all the AI creation will ruin it, but because Google is at helm they will probably be able to filter it.
AI podcasts are not thag creative but good chance they ll become big

Imo youtube premium is worth it because it includes youtube music, that makes it cheaper than Spotify.
The benefit of Spotify premium are audio books.

How is the quality of YouTube music compared to Spotify?

I have Spotify premium but I am thinking about switching to another music service.
