A little suggestion/observation on the batting order

I actually suggested this once before but seeing the familiar style of Pakistans batting collapses in the whole Asia cup it seemed like the one thing they could have done to rescue the situation.

Dont open with the openers. It appeared for some time ,especially when Fakhar was firing ,that our batting lineup is heavily reliant on the top 3,middle order quite nonexistent. The allrounder players we have are no way actual middle order batsmen.Basically just unreliable sloggers who can avoid getting out.
Considering that even with a conventional batting order Pak was often 35-3 after 10 overs how much worse could it be if they just promote their "allrounder" hacks as openers.Dont reverse the batting order completely but just open with these allrounder hacks. They will throw their bats around, hopefuly get some runs and stick around for 6 overs maybe, then the real batsmen can come in with less pressure.
Another factor is that these 'allrounders' often really are not much use down the order late in the innings, not much idea how to chase or finish off the innings, leads to stalling the momentum as soon as they come in.

Much better to use them quickly for some runs then go steadily with your proper batsmen, rather than this collapse at start of innings and a slow rebuilding phase with a poor finish.

Panic, changes for the sake of it, all-rounders coming in ahead of batsmen.

That's what has been happening.

They'll get shot out if they open, will provide more down the order.

I think we shouldn't be playing bowling allrounders atm, go for batsmen or batting allrounders instead. I'd go for Talat, I think between him, Malik and Haris they can make up 10 overs.

I do think perhaps batsmen like Fakhar are suited down the order. I get he has done well on the whole, but even in his big innings, he's usually given chances at the beginning. It's only when he works himself in, he looks good out there. Better to open with the more technically correct, better defense against pace batsmen at the top who can set a platform for the others to build on.

Fire power should spread across the line up. Agreed. But just to create an illusion that you have depth you cannot push top players down the order. India learnt the lesson in 2007 world cup by pushing Tendulkar to no.4

Nah,its just that the top 2,3 batsmen often have been dismissed cheaply this tournament so we need to do smth different.Think, just like nightwatchmen.
Expecting such players to come in and bat while the team is in the middle overs is just not what they are cut out for, these Imad ,Shadab,Faheem,Hassan. They just disrupt the flow of the innings, youd rather have proper batsmen to partner sm1 like malik.

Not necessarily. The new ball hasnt been doing much in uae and often we have spinners bowling inside the first ten overs. You could back players like Shadab,Hassan,Faheem,Imad to tonk smth during that time. And these batsmen arent reliable but not exactly duds. They can hold their wicket somewhat.

It has got nothing to do with providing illusion of depth.
These players ,hasan, faheem, shadab, are not walking wickets but they cant be expected to dig in and play a long innings and guide the team to a decent total or structure a chase with a proper batsman at the other hand.
Sure they have done at some instances in the past but its really not reliable enough---they are hit or miss.
Its been a real issue that our top order often takes pressure and gets out cheaply, leaving an anchor and these hacks to scratch together a total.
Much better we scratch a total with say malik and babar, haris, fakahr etc.
And then plan shoudl be that these promoted players should play fast and be back in the hut within 6-10 overs.

Shadab has really disappointed. He is not as bad a batsman as he is made out to be here. He has a debut half century against Broad and Anderson at Lord’s. The guy was upper cutting 150 kph Lockie Ferguson thunderbolts for boundaries in January. Something seriously went wrong in the dressing room for a lot of our young players to completely disintegrate mentally in this tournament.

Shadab himself said that he likes to bat when there is pace and bounce :fz

Lol, who doesn't. Batting on slower wickets requires much more discipline and hard work. Rohit Sharma and Shikar Dhawan made it look so easy when it was not for even most of the Indian Batting Line up.
