Afghanistan (133/3) defeat Pakistan (130/6) by 7 wickets to win the 2nd T20I and take a 2-0 lead

Poor captaincy by Shadab. Should’ve let zaman and ihsanullah bowl the 19 and 20th
 
Azam Khan should not be playing...

He couldn't even grab the ball and throw it
 
Imad should have bowled an extra over in the middle so that Naseem wouldn't have to bowl in the final overs. Here Naseem came on and ruined all the momentum that Pakistan built in the last few overs..terrible.
 
People are like Azam can score 100 and hit big shots....forget about the fact that he cant even seem to score a run, his wicket keeping alone will lose you matches.

Pakistan needs to improve domestic setup so in future young players should have better experience

Great effort by Pakistan to almost take it to the last delivery. Boys should be proud of their efforts.

We were pretty rude to underestimate these guys honestly, we probably deserved it.
 
Much better performence today by our team, Shadab if he was a little smarter would have brought in Imad for another over.

Let Afghan celebrate, they deserve to win, but remember we had 4 debutants, a new bowling attack, a clueless captain, and a wicket keep who cant keep who is basically the 12th player for the other team.
 
A very thick headed leadship in Pakistan is responsible for countries’ failure, and cricket is one of them. Pak ka allah he hafiz

Useless side that lost to Bangladesh in an odi series.

Many lessons learnt but one recurring theme... absolutel lack of intelligence.

Forget national cricketing academies, specialist bowling and batting coaches.. instead send them all to school, give them reading lists and and rest their IQ levels
 
Sorry to say but Azam's wicketkeeping is not good enough for international level. He is terrible. Sorry i had to say it. I am no hater.

We have a decent bowling attack.

We need our big boys back and we'll be routinely scoring 160 on these pitches which will win us the game 90% of the time.

Nothing to be sorry about, when a someone off his weight is asked to keep (I am not insulting) its just a fact is asked to keep at international level what do you suspect, he is the worst wicket keeper I have ever seen, and his batting is not better either, He Should Never Wear A Pak Jersey Again.
 
Pak team full of boneheads with chief among them being Shadab Khan.

People want this guy on our team, like it makes no sense, if he was a little over weight like Rohit or Pant, you can accept it, but he is not overweight he is Really Overweight, that should not be accepted in International Cricket for any team.

Azam Khan, and his fans are calling people hater for his weight issue, but no one is being a hater, their just stating facts. For the love of GOD, he should not play the next game, let Haris keep, even if we lose, I will feel better know Haris, who is fit and better cricketer is keeping for our team than Azam Khan

It was like our B or C team, Afghan had a full strength team, inexperience bowling line up, can have a hard time to win you a game, but for the most part we bowled pretty well, and kept it tight.
 
Guess there wont be so many thank the lord comments when they get interviewed.
 
Shadab completely bottled it after Gurbaz got out. Wide, boundary, a couple. Totally doused all the momentum.

Then the less said about his captaincy the better. On UAE pitches, it's criminal to not have your spinners bowl 12 overs. Don't know what's this fascination with fast bowlers who aren't even good. Zaman is the only one who has come up with his reputation intact.

Naseem's problem is that he has no brain to critically solve problems. He needs someone else to dictate to him what to bowl ball by ball.
 
This sends a terrible signal,chacha will be back so would be shan. The problem is shadab is simply not a genuine bowler. Pak team had no genuine spinner . It’s quite sad the way they selected the team. I feel sorry for naseem shah. With all hos experience he seemed to be the most likely to be taken to cleaners.
 
Its ok..we lost to a better side.
Pak C team (4 regular players) against top Afghan side.
Lets play the same team again, and bring in Ifti for Tayyab and may be Shan for Abdullah.

Outside of Shaheen, this is your full strength bowling attack. Rauf is a choker. Ihsanullah is much better than him. Rauf is not missed.

In the batting, it is clear that without Babar and Rizwan, Pak is worse than Zimbabwe.

Their was no Babar, Rizwan, Fakhar, (Ifitikhar named in the squad but didnt play) no Shaheen, and no Rauf who would have done a decent job as well, you had 6 regulars not playing ill even throw in Shan Masood name in their he is a regular as well, ( saim, shafique, and tayyab) are new to the set up and played a strong afghan Bowling attack, on a tough pitch. We had Azam Khan who cant bat or field, or Keep, he is basically a 12th man for the other team, so yeah this is our full team, and bowling attack
 
The batsmen brought shame to Pakistan. I can’t believe they rested their top players knowing Afghan always give tough games. Ruined the whole team morale, and the media will go in on them. Stupid decision.
 
...and some so-called cricket legend recently said he wants to create two teams.

Afghanistan even at full strength is a minnow. This loss is unacceptable considering the talent we claim to have.
 
Rashid, Afghanistan captain: Great honour and pleasure to lead this wonderful team. Great effort with the ball, and then we took it deep and finished it off. This wicket is always a 150-160 wicket. But Pakistan-Afghanistan game is pressure game and that makes it 125-130. 130 was a good total, but we tried our best to take it deep and finish it. Strategy was to go there and make sure you take responsibility. Take it deep and try to finish it. We have players to finish it like Nabi and Najib. Main thing was to have wickets in hand.

Shadab, Pakistan captain: It was a good score. We were struggling again. If you look at stats, if you lose 3 wickets in powerplay, you lose 70 percent of the games. I think there's nervousness - they're playing for the first time for Pakistan (the new batters). We have to back them. Sometimes you don't perform but attitude matters. That's more important for me. They have talent. They will be great cricketers. Will play for pride tomorrow.

Farooqi, Player of the Match: Would like to congratulate everyone back home. Special moment for us. I tried to use the new ball. If it's swinging, I look to attack and take wickets. Pakistan is a very strong team. It's always a proud moment to win a match and win a series.
 
Naseem Shah was the experienced bowler in this line up. He let down Pakistan really badly. Shadab too was a big let down with the ball and his captaincy.

Fakhar is not reliable. He would not have any better than Saim.
Rauf is a choker. Just because Pakistan lost, Rauf suddenly becomes the 2nd coming of Marshal:)) Isanullah bowled pretty well.Same with Zaman who bowled well. It was only Naseem Shah who is a mediocre bowler. Shaheen was badly missed.

Babar and Rizwan are more valuable than anything that Pakistan has except for Shaheen.

Afghanistan may end up winning 3-0.

Pakistan's batting bench strength is not looking good.
 
These type of low scoring games are typical of Pakistan - Afghanistan games. Fine margins. Even in the t20 and asia cup it was some unlikely hitting that saved us.

Does anyone think babar (who can’t play googlies) would fare any better Vs Rashid?

Naseem’s last over was very poor, but the man who started the rot was shadab who bowled 2 poor balls to hand the momentum back to Afghanistan after we started to strangle them.

As I said fine margins. I don’t think the A team would have fared much better.

It is true our bench strenght is not as stong as people thing it but having them get chances regularly will help

In terms of our full team, Pakistan in t20 format atleast is a top tier team.

Let's be fair and do NOT call the entire team rubbish. Yes, some experienced players played atrocious cricket, but we need to be careful criticizing young guns while the Captain has been making dumb decisions to bring the confidence down. JIFFY T20 cricket turns on its head for just a few bad decisions, and Shadab with Gul have made plenty.
 
Well deserved victory by AFG, Pakistan lacked motivation in the series probably they underestimated the opponents also the pathetic display by new players make you question the strength of PSL where international discards like David Weise have become legends, Pakistan need a tough nut professional coach
 
Congrats on Afg for this win but considering the fact that PAK die not play their regula side this win must be seen in that background . Anyway a victory is a victory and it definitely boosts the confidence of the AFG Team but they must keep in mind that their victory was over a non regular PAK team and must not get over elated .
 
Pakistan did welll to avoid two back to back World Cup defeats to the Afghans in 2019 and 2023. They came remarkably close an ok both occasions. This was on the cards. The Afghans have been coming hard at Pakistan for some time now and Pakistan might have just made it easier for them by resting their top players.

Strange, even half of Pakistan knew that naseem shah don't deserve the 19th over. He was probably given that because of experience but his bowling form was evident in PSL.

#ruining career.

Plus Shadab's captaincy and his keeping it simple attitude hurt Islo and Pak in this month only

why shouldnt they be over elated? They defeated Pakistan for the first time ever. If pakistan makes dumb team selection, its not afgs fault. They have every right to celebrate this series win, they have finally defeated Pakistan.

I think they are yet to defeat India now.
