Quickly Read the pitch - analyze the bounce and turn - adjust your batting to it - and then hit them by keeping your head down.

Pakistan have named their XI for the second T20I against Afghanistan today at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. There is one change in the side as Mohammad Nawaz replaces Faheem Ashraf.

Batting looks weak. Shadab, Nawaz and Imad aren't good enough batsmen for all 3 to play at once. Ideally only two of them should play.

We desperately need a batting AR in the side who can bowl a couple of handy overs.

Different approach

Announcing teams plenty of hours in advance. It expresses confidence in your side but it also gives your opponent plenty of notice on how to prepare

Suspecting Pakistan will open with spin today instead of a seamer

Isn't Ihsanullah a good weapon with the new ball?

Isn't Ihsanullah a good weapon with the new ball?

100%

Needs to be unleashed early. I think they worry that his inexperience and extra pace might be easy to score of, so they hold him back for the ball to get slightly softer and harder to hit off.

Ihsanullah’s strength is his shorter, at the body length whereas a new ball bowler needs to be much fuller and get whatever swing is available early on.

He has a season with KPK to learn the art of new ball bowling. Right now just let him do what’s working for him, 5th over entry

Good change. Faheem doesn't deserve to be on the team.

Personally,

I would open with Saim and Tayyab, and hold back Harris for a bit because he is our key wicket/game changer. Him falling early and cheaply is always going to be a big blow.

Also I recon Imad needs to come in before Azam, Imad looked the best against Spin and is in his best form. Others can bat around him whilst he keeps one end locked

I would have played uncle ifti instead of nawaz to be honest

Definitely. All three spinners in the team spin the ball in to the left handers. Ifti turns it away. Variety is always good but can we expect such basics from Shadab?

Imad needs to assert himself so he can be an automatic pick in the first team. He is vastly experienced to playing as second fiddle.

Pakistan already made a blunder by not picking a proper spinner in Usama Mir. Imad needs to justify his selection.

Sounds like you are trying to ruin Haris career and also advocating anchors in T20.

Not a bad team imo.... Need one anchor

Batting order should be like
Saim Ayub
Abdullah shafiq
Tayyab Tahir
Imad wasim
Azam khan
M.haris
Nawaz
Shahdab
Zaman
Naseem
Ihsanullah

Nawaz or Azam should come at 4 to sandwich between youngsta beauties
Nawaz to play as pivot

These were my thoughts, let's see how it plays out today. In India we will likely need 3 spinners.

Chacha should have came in for Azam Khan. Haris should be the the wicketkeeper

We know what Chacha can do (not much). He could have replaced Faheem today.

We're already invested in the rookies now, so Azam, Haris, Saim, Tayyab, Zaman and Ihsanullah should get all three games of this series regardless of how they perform.

Drafting young players is one thing but planning and strategy are also vital aspects

Pakistan have won the toss and have opted to bat

Bat first again. Amazing!

Stats don’t win the game. Shadab and Gull have been looking at the win percentage batting first rather than looking at the current scenario. Let see how much swing Afg get today early.

Lets see what the strategy is with the batting.

If the purpose of this series is to give the new talent a go then i guess it makes sense to always bat first.

Saim was looking good in PSL , but as soon as he gets into International cricket , he looks tentative , lack of confidence , and thus perishes. By batting this way he cannot challenge Riz - Babar combo

Looks like we'll be congratulating Afghanistan on their first series win over Pakistan.

I love how we're making Afghanistan seem like prime James Anderson and Shane Warne in one :))

Whenever the ball swung in PSL, both saim and haris looked very loose.

Here we go again. Rocked much sooner than they would have liked. Terrible shot Abdullah

we will win today, inshallah, but the kids u want to friggin perform are the ones being horrible...

You are something else.

Whats the idiot Shadab batting first for again?
