Afghanistan v Pakistan | 2nd T20I | Sharjah | 26 March 2023 | Pakistan Innings

Amir is unable to express himself clearly. Needs to say volume of runs is important and then how you get them.

No point in strike rates when you're returning 20/3 game after game.

Pakistan need to keep it simple and back themselfs and not go too crazy and we can get to a good score

Problem is that Doull’s pov is short sighted

It’s fine to have bashers opening the innings for you if they are capable of doing that consistently. As is very evident Pakistan is far from having this and haven’t had any candidates in the past.

There’s a lot of glaring weaknesses in both Ayub and Haris. Both can develop but they can’t be thrust in international cricket like this.

Aamer Sohail epitomises the think tank of every ex-Pakistani cricketer. Outdated and doesn't understand the modern demands of white ball cricket.

Do we have player of harry brook quality to replace babar or we have azam khan?

I don't know what Tayyab Tahir did in the PSL (apart from one good innings) to an international call up. I don't remember anyone vouching for his selection in the T20I team.

Simon Doull and Aamir Sohail should be banned from commentating on Pakistan games.

Bhai its not about who we have. How can you say that averages are more important than SR. If i average 60 but strike at 100 how does it help

I think in Haris is case he just needs to learn to not to smash ever ball and to also rotate strike better...he is good for opening once he is able to be a batsman who can smash, rotate strike, and be a little more cautious he will be a great opener....just needs to be persisted with.

he also has national t20 numbers on his side.was the best batsmen there

The national T20 is a lower standard than the PSL. Not every professional Pakistani cricketer can make the cut for the PSL.

If you can't do in the PSL, you shouldn't even be in contention for the T20I team.

Game time at domestic level does matter. A player needs to show consistency over a period of 3-4 years before being considered for selection. Faheem Ashraf with an avg of 11 making a comeback on the back of 1 Psl fifty is ridiculous.

Babar should not be a coward and bat at number 3

We have an average of 17 of all players tried in this position

We need to pick the best team. This means we have to experiment in these meaningless bilateral T20I series.

It's too early to write off Saim Ayub, Muhmmad Haris and Abdullah Shafique. They're all good players who need to be backed.

Just 45 short of the 80 runs in PP. What a joke some of the fans have been. Perhaps such showings would mellow down their hatred for RizBab

So our best batters of domestic circuit had a terrible outing in 1st 2 games against minnows. Let's see if they can turn the things in 3rd match.

This type of unguided series will not do their confidence any good.

Both players strike rate is under 100.

So much talk of Rizwan and Babar. Imagine if it was them.

These players are just there to survive. Try at least put pressure on the bowler.

Everyone was happy with this team when it was selected, except for Shan and Ifti who did not even play.

I

Yes but look at Imads body langauge. He is imbuing the whole team with alpha mentality

Who remembers Aamer Sohail on Sky Sports with Charles Colvile and Bob Willis?

For those who do, they'll recall it was a tough watch :))

Top level we need established players. This is not the platform to hone the skills of new players. They must go back and do the hard yards in domestics. They need to follow the example of someone like Rizwan

Babar he opened with. And he said that openers can't come in at 3. None who can play a T20 game. I rate Saim highly but unsure of him at 3

#3 is Haris on lock. Saim is good enough to open. He will need to step up a bit and displace on of Babar or Riz. Ideally Riz

It is time for MODS to delete all the comments about Babar and Rizwan comparisons. Aren’t you tired of it. Please enjoy the game. Compare these guys when these guys have played enough games on different surfaces. Redundancy is boring

Oh chal Mama your best technical player bats at 3 not your wild swingers!

I am okay with that too but keeping it realistic in terms of what will happen. Haris is too valuable to be a wild slogger.

What was the need of that after deciding you are playing a Rizwan role?

are some of the posters here for real? you peeps do realize this is a meaningless series in which we are trying young blood... afg can win this stupid series 3-0, it wont mean a thing, but it will give some of these youngsters much needed game time... and yes it stinks that the kids havent really gone hot, but that is the whole point, let them get a taste, get a feel, get that understanding of hard work needed in the domestics. So, please stop dreaming about babar and rizwan etc, when we play a proper series they will be back, and afg (they know it too) wont beat our main side...

I ask again, which genius thought it was a good idea to select Tayyab Tahir?
