Afghanistan v Pakistan | 2nd T20I | Sharjah | 26 March 2023 | Pakistan Innings

I think Imad is playing okay. But I have seen posters roast someone like Riz for playing the same innings. Hence a bit confused. Are we calling this an okay innings or what

rizwan comes in to open and dibble dobbles around doing ton of melodrama and slow strike rate...

imad came in with 23-3 and overs wasted and 2 more fell around him....

2 complete different scenarios, u can swap the batters, and whoever is in the first scenario is horrible, and whoever is in 2nd scenario isnt an atg but isnt horrible, its called playing to the situation...

I'm glad we passed 100 this time. Thank you for your irreplaceable services, Imad Wasim.

Fair enough

I say play the same team against NZ in T20Is and ODIs. It should be enough to judge these players.

This thread is becoming unreadable.

Babar and Rizwan are very good cricketers but their fans should accept both have limitations, mainly their SR in the PowerPlay. I'd suggest not being so bombastic after their high-profile failures at the World Cup (and Babar's flop in Asia Cup).

However it's obvious our batting reserves are appalling. Saim and Haris have a long way to go.

We need to tweak the batting order and our mindset. That means not settling for mediocre par scores on flat decks, and adjusting if conditions require. Then maybe we can celebrate tournament wins over simply reaching finals and gaining personal milestones.

It really is.

Why did we win the toss and bat first again? Same sluggish type of pitch...shows you why having a proper think thank is important

The brains of Pakistan Shaddy thought it was totally different and a great pitch.

Not impressive when it comes to testing the batting bench strength bar Imad can bat but we knew that anyways

We knew it, but then we made them play on flat tracks in 57 meter boundaries in PSL to watch them score 200 runs, so that we could feel good about themselves.

Can't any pak play the ramp or reverse shot.

Honestly, these batters are so behind everyone else

Bad finish this. Shows why Imad has never been a threat at top level. And shadab too very disappointing. Needed 140 -145

He played half the available balls and is batting at an SR of 112. No one should even attempt to defend that.

Yes they should

He’s not opening. He’s batting at 5 and is fighting hard for his team

Yes they can because they don’t get 36 free hits with only 2 fielders on the boundary

How is that hard to understand for you Rizwan and Babar fans????

Yeah we saw how 72 free hits were treated in last 2 matches 🤣

Open with spins and go for dots

Get the rr up to 8s by the end of the powerplay

However, a double wicket maiden is criminal never mind against minnows.

Two nation theory

Some guys are just not Pakistani enough for this Pakistan team apparently

The problem with this analysis is it doesn't factor the pitch nor does it account for the circumstances.

It's a difficult pitch to the time the ball. It's on the slower side and there was plenty of assistance for the spinners.

Imad came in when the score was 20/3. He scored 64 off 57 balls at a strike rate of 112. Pakistan scored 130 runs off 120 balls. This equates to a lower strike rate than Imad's innings (108).

He scored half of the team runs on a wicket which wasn't easy to bat on at a higher strike rate than the team's average.

That is a good effort. Not saying he set the world alight but I'll give him a 7 out of 10. Some would rate it higher than me!

It's much worse scoring that slow when batting at 5 than when opening. Even for an opener this type of inning would be embarrassing. Let's hope Shadab salvaged this score for Pakistan.

So all of a sudden it’s the average that matters not SR. Lol

He averaged more than Babar and Rizwan combined and had a +30 sr than those two as well

He is a better T20 batsman for his role than they are as openers

Facts

The ball should stay lower in the 2nd inning varying more in bounce. I think it would not be as easy as some are thinking for Afg

No not at all try to understand powerplay and fielding restrictions

Imad scores runs

RizBar fans about to go into Padmawati inferno scene mode

Last wicket fell in 10th over. Post that just 5 boundaries with 3 from the outside edge. What a cowardly effort from both batters.

Imad Wasim - 64* off 57 balls
Shadab Khan - 32 off 25 balls
Rest of the Pakistan batters - 29 off 39 balls
5 extras

PSL proving to be more of a curse than a blessing....

because our teams are cheating... how so... they are cheating the purpose... most of them are taking batters as overseas slots, and jamming the top order or middle order with them... and those guys do the heavy work... our local batters usually do zilch or do little innings around that... hence no real responsibility on our players to score big or heavy... and as a result they dont translate that...

here however, i would be cautious, this is a complete new side with most guys with debuts or under 10 games... so you cant point fingers or have expectations...

normally teams blood in youngsters by a rotating policy and use t20is as a way to blood youngsters... slowly and steadily... our team never does that, they tremble at the thought of introducing youngsters... only reason harris played in t20 wc was to save some face... or he too would have been debuting this series... and this approach our team took of introducing youngsters by throwing them all under the bus is wrong, however, the only reason we are gleefully accepting it is because we rarely see youngsters get a chance.
