I say give him his favorite position (whichever he chooses) for 10-15 ODIs/T20s and full support and see if anything comes good. If not, then don't select him ever again.

Since when does a player get to choose where he should bat? He's a member of the team and he should be willing to and capable of batting at more than 1 position.

Two very unrelated things put together in a single sentence. There’s always a “but” that has to come. Any way, good to see him acknowledge the statistical evidence of him being sub-par.
