TOBA TEK SINGH/SILAKOT: Pirmahal police on Sunday registered a case against three men belonging to the Ahmadi community on the complaint of a religious seminary official over violation of a supposed ban on them following Islamic practices.

In his first information report, Mufti Abid Fareed, the administrator of the Jamia Umer Farooq seminary, stated that on Eidul Azha, a local jeweller and his two sons had sacrificed a cow and distributed its meat among Sunnis. They had also donated its hide to a religious seminary, Madressah Arabia Islamia Tajweedul Quran.

Fareed added that by doing so the suspects had hurt the beliefs of the Muslims.

No arrests were made so far and police said an investigation was underway.

In another case, police claim to have arrested a man on the allegation of desecrating Islam at Pasrur’s Main Bazaar Chawinda.

The Phalora police have registered a case (No.309/2020) under sections 295-A and 298-C against the suspect on the report of a local trader. Police sent the suspect behind the bars. According to the FIR, the man went to and demeaned religion in front of the traders. The traders, it said, beat the suspect after overpowering him and handed him over to police.

This is an article about Pakistan in the year 2020.

It is unbelievably distressing so see how far we have regressed and continue to fall behind.

Imran Khan said that things would improve for minorities in Pakistan but so far it has been the same old intolerance and bigotry.

Until we secularise our national identity and take steps to curtail the role of religion in public life, we will continue to be a laughing stock on the world stage.

Persecution of Ahmedi's continues. We really need police reforms so they would stop booking this pathetic cases.

Pakistan is not secular by its very definition, so just stop expecting it to be one, anyone want or think otherwise can do whatever he can but it won't change the society as a whole one bit, you like it or don't but thus is what it is.

The police did not create these laws. We need constitutional reform, to replace the second amendment of the constitution. Only then will the persecution of Ahmadis start to go to down.

If you think Pakistan is bad now, then you were probably not alive or very young during the 80's, and early 90's. If anything Pakistan is finally getting better. However still a ways to go to get back to where it was in the 60's.

He has taken steps to improve their conditions, But as far as Ahmadis go, you need to change society. And you need all major political parties to come on board.

Pakistan was created on Muslim Nationalism, and the founders did not want Pakistan to be a theocracy but a secular Muslim state. Like how Israel was created to be a secular Jewish state. The only thing they wanted was the cultural symbols of Pakistan to reflect the Muslim heritage of the subcontinent.

So Pakistan can be a liberal Muslim state, a moderate Muslim state, or a conservative Muslim state, but it will be a Muslim state.

I am personally rooting for a liberal a Muslim state.

The issue with these kind of threads is that people tend to foccuss on the news , they never look at the root cause of it.

If you bash Pakistan Government and people most are happy here , and give sympathy to Ahmedis. When someone responds to that , his post will be deleted .

Pakistan was made as an Islamic state. The problem with Ahmedis is that they are not Muslims , this has been passed by law , with all the sects of Islam present. Now , they should accept that , because in reality they are following another prophet after Muhammad . So they should identify themselves as Ahmedis.

The problem with Ahmedis is NOT that they have come out of fold of Islam , but because they are hiding behind resources and name of Islam and are propagating their own ideologies, which are fundamentally wrong.

What do you mean by the Liberal Muslim state?
The issue of the finality of Muhammad, is not a topic of discussion, its a fundamental belief. The companions fought against the person who claimed to be a prophet

If the action of companions is not evidence, then what else is the evidence ?
