Missed Ahmed Shehzad dearly on the SA tour. I dont know why he gets so much hate. He has an issue with his dot ball percentage but he is still miles ahead of players like Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Shoaib Malik, Sahibzada Farhan and Hussain Talat.

Agree, he is still far better than what we have now, best fielder after Shadab in the Pakistan. Still young, hope he will make a successful comeback.

his strike rotation is pathetic and so his running between the wickets and he is sucha a beautiful timer of a ball but straight to fielder 9 out of 10 times than in the end in frustration he try to attack whoever comes in his way most likely a spinner like bull who gets attracted to cape held by matador and attacked it like his life is depend on it most likely a catch to mid on or stump.

Pakistan need batsman who can score heavily in the UAE, considering that they've been weak at home lately. Away results aren't a big deal for now.

Though not sure if Shehzad is good enough for even that.
 
Hoping to see him come back. Solid backup option in all formats, heck, should open for us in tests.
 
pcb had invested alot on him and umer akmal.
only thing bad in him is poor strike rotation and fear to hit the ball hard.
 
He should try his luck in bodybuilding and leave Cricket.
 
There’s three qualities I use to judge the quality of an attacking batsman - timing, placement and shot selection.

Ahmad Shezad gets almost full marks on timing when he is batting well, but while his shot selection was questionable, his placement was probably the worst I’ve seen for any batsman — the guy would have scored twice as many runs as he had if those perfectly timed cover drives didn’t go straight to the fielders.

My benchmark for timing, placement and shot selection of all attacking batsmen is Brian Charles Lara - 10 out of 10 in all three, I would probably give him 15 out of 10 for placement as he was that skilful at finding the gaps in the field which is why he scored so many boundaries compared to other batsmen. And our own Saeed Anwar was also exceptional at timing and placement.

Unfair to compare Shezad or anyone to such legends, but point is the guy needs to work hard to make his shots count for something other than fielding practice.
 
He was very unfairly dropped from the Test team. Hopefully he will replace the hack soon and open with Imam. Should not be considered for Limited Overs at this point. Masood need to bat at 3 and Azhar needs to go.
 
LOL at people saying he was unfairly dropped. Look at the last test he played. Against the west indies it was, if I remember correctly he was dropped 5-6 times during his innings of 70.

He was good in tests before the hit on the head. But I'd take him over fakhar.

I’m pretty sure he will play a few selfish innings and make his way back to international. Sarfraz has a sweet spot for him.

He looked short of Match practice to me, not sure if he has had a lot of Cricket of late
 
Two horrible dismissals. Looks shaky.

Umar Akmal on the other hand grasping the opportunity with both hands by performing really well.

honestly it was probably a good thing for him.

After he got dropped by Corey Anderson, shezhad has not been able to handle the short ball like he once did. Would have beaten alive in all the forgein tours we have been to.
 
Looks very low on confidence.

Not seeing balls, missing straight deliveries. Even during his bad days he used to be able to do some tuk tuk. Now he isn't even middling one.

Moin will keep supporting him. So won't be dropped.

Unfortunately, he is not the first player whose Test career has been derailed because of Limited Overs failures. Taufeeq Umar's promising Test career was flushed down the toilet in 2004 because he failed in ODIs. Only Younis had the luxury of failing to his heart's content in ODIs without impacting his Test selection.

As far as Shehzad is concerned, it might be too late now, especially after the emergency of Imam and the resurgence of Shan. Nevertheless, Fakhar is walking a tight rope.

I don't think we need Shehzad..keep Shan and Imam as openers, Babar up to 3. Shafiq, Fawad Alam and Saad Ali can be our middle order.

It is just a matter of time before Shehzad gets a biggy.

These slow pitches are not suited to him. He is struggling for timing.

His test record was very poor

In matches he scored centuries we put up 600 type scores where 4 people per innings scored centuries.

He was exposed big time in Sri Lanka despite favourable conditions and even in WI Husnain only innings of note had several dropped catches
 
After looking at the biceps I really wished he could have made something out of what remains of his career. Maybe some successful twilight years as a Test or T20 specialist. Unfortunately, seems like the same old Shehzad who should now only open the batting for a regional 2nd XI.

Shouldn't even be considered a first pick in PSL let alone considered for National Side.

Don't know what happened to this guy though... Where did the daring young man who scored an attacking ODI hundred against NZ in NZ in 2010 go? I remember there was a hundred or two he scored late in an innings and did not even celebrate because he was so focused and intent on finishing the game.

After that 176 vs NZ and which he broke his jaw, he was never the same...:(

This one comes at 31 balls. SR and confidence showing remarkable improvement.
 
After a weak start to the PSL, he made a strong comeback and ended up with a match winning performance in the final with the highest score of 99 for his team.

Get this lad back in the team already. :yk
 
Brilliant scores in his last 4-5 games but the Strike rate is still a concern. He can be a 140-170 striker on a regular basis. Still, very good and the only way you can shut your critics up is staying out in the middle and making runs
 
Congrats Shezzy ‘The little angel’

Always believed in him.

He began his journey with 2011 World Cup and he must take it to the next level in 2019.
