Ahmed Shehzad returns with the usual mediocrity

He acted well on the ground give the credit where its due.

This batsman pretender has again did what he's famous for.

It's absolutely CRIMINAL to play like such a dot ball trash accumulator.

His minnow level low strike rate in this match preventing us from a good score against a weak team like west indies.

Imagine what will happen in ICC tournamnets!

Even Azhar Ali was an upgrade over this limited selfish player.

I cant stand him as a player. he is awful. this is why - he is mentally a midget, and has demonstrated that at every point he has been able to.

that said, now he's been picked, id want him to be given a decent run so at least he isnt carrying the pressure of his place being insecure and so we can genuinely see what he has to offer. as crap as he is, I can understand he is playing substandard to his level because the prior selection history of the pcb has been so utterly atrocious.

Babar Azam played with a lower strike rate :)))

This guy is the main culprit of our loss.

But Inzamam's brain doesn't work like that. he'll think "Great! Shehzad set up a great platform for the team to build on, scored valuable runs, and will be picked for the next 10 years".

lmao, that's weak.

Only other batsmen to play as many innings were Babar, Kamran, and Malik, who had high scores of 43, 48, and 38*.

I was merely pointing out a fact.

A bit slow today but as an opener laid a good foundation, again one of the better innings.

By his standards. Whenever you watch him it seems that he is playing his debut game. Never in command and always finding fielders for his strokes. Remember, he is very weak against good/back of the length ball outside off stump.

No way. On a 350 pitch, everybody has to be above 100 SR.

Hence why I said a bit slow but we don't know what target the captain and coach had in mind. I'd hazard a guess at 300 with over confidence thinking the bowlers esp spinners will run though which is a pretty average batting line up.

Players making a comeback will often be worried about taking undue risks losing their wickets. Hafeez did the same and so did some of the Windies batsmen who are trying to establish themselves. However if the openers set a decent platform guilt should be aimed at the middle lower order.

All of these people you mentioned are inherently mediocre. And Ahmad Shehzad is mostly seen in this mood.

Hafeez I feel is completely out of form and finished as a cricketer, however even he increased his strike rate towards the end of his innings.

Shehzad played a completely selfish and terrible innings, playing within himself and overly concerned with his wicket. We are severely lacking options at the moment, heck I am even happier with Kamran opening who is a atrocious
batsman.

Shehzad is scared of loosing his place in the side again as long as he has that fear he probably will never score fast enough for today's standard. He greatest problem is and has been inability to take singles in the PSL it looked like he got over it but it doesn't seem so here. You can't play 35-40 dot balls in an odi.

Even in the PSL he had two innings of note in the 10 chances he got, and he got selected on the back of that by the revolutionary chief selector.

So who performed in all 7-8 matches he played and didn't get selected?
