14 runs at slower than a run a ball in today's T20i.
Are faster days ahead of him?

Shehzad was playing beautifully in PSL. Sad to see him not able to carry his form to International Cricket.
Every batsman has failed so far in this series. Judge him fairly.
More like to save him from failure.I think he'll do well in the ODIs.
Should be rested for the next 2 games just as a safety precaution.

Safety precaution for what? He's obviously fine as he was given the all clear to return to the field.
An opener has more responsiblity in T20 cricket.
If an opener plays at less than a 100 SR you come down hard on him. If someone like Sarfaraz plays at 100 SR after he came out to bat at 40 odd for 4 then that is acceptable.
We (the Pakistani team) should be awarded 10 extra runs per innings. After all, we don't have openers unlike other teams.
Soumia Sarkar / Tamim Iqbal >>>day light>>>Pakistani openers
Bhai cut this double standard rubbish.
Shehzad is mediocre but Sarfraz the savior even more so. The only bowlers he can smash is spinners.
And he's failing even against them!)
Same for Malik. Both Sarfraz n Malik can only play spinners and a spectacular failure at that this series.
Just two matches and the knives are out. That's Pakistan fans for you.
He's played over a hundred international matches- failed for the most.Just two matches and the knives are out. That's Pakistan fans for you.
Not his first two matches are they?
He's played over a hundred international matches- failed for the most.
Makes his return and he's failing again. Why shouldn't the knives be out?
Honestly I'm not even sure how Shehzad has a fan base.
Nothing in his game, nothing in his stats. I can understand stats lovers drooling over a certain player because of spreadsheets even if someone has a poor game.
But this Shehzad guy has nothing.![]()
The thing is, there was this super brief period at beginning of his career where he showed that he had a wide range of shots, didn't run too many singles but was willing to take on the bowlers especially over cover. He would move the legside and hit over cover or trusted himself to pull to mid wicket if bowler spotted his movement and pitched it short. I think he has forgotten all of this.
Shehzad is useless for modern day Cricket. Should be counted as a TTF now.
Needs to improve in the odis.
Sorry, but aren't you the one who was supporting his comeback saying he has done for a recall? I.e. the same mistake you keep making with Malik.
He earned a recall, what's wrong with that?
Malik merits a spot in the odi team . Just accept it.
Shows no game insight if you're going to back players like that . Clear signs were there that they aren't meant for intl cricket with the type of batting technique they have.
Awful shot today. What on earth was he thinking?
It's been another ordinary comeback by Shehzad to the Pakistan team.
So what's the excuse now?

He should only play test cricket. Good test opener.
He is an excellent test opener. A must in test side.

He's a good Test opener?
BE PATIENT MERE MORTALS.....
By the law of averages the 65-70 ball 50 is just round the corner!
Once that happens (irrespective of the team winning or losing) Shezad will be on fire (on twitter) and all the 'Shezadians' will come out of hiding!
WAIT & BE PATIENT!
give him a chance in tests here in WI, then will wait for the next excuse...

He is under pressure. Give him time.
Sorry bro, but you're totally wrong when it comes to your backing of Fakhar Zaman and Shehzad.

He's played 75+ ODI's and couldn't salvage an average more than 35 at a strike rate of 70 odd. I'll leave PPShould NEVER play T20Is again. Is not a T20 player by any stretch of imagination.
Am willing to give him all 3 ODIs with Fakhar, because our other options are Hafeez and Kamran. If he can bat at the pace he is batting in T20 and can average 38+, I'll take him.

if Shehzad's average exceeds 35 with a strike rate of 80.
It's unfortunate but the comeback boys have been selected without any back ups in the squad. So while it's good for them that they will get to play all the games, it's bad for pakistan because if they succeed even in one match, pakistan will be in deep trouble at the champions trophy.
For what it's worth he might have a decent odi series with a good aggregate but overall strike rate will barely touch 80
By the end of the year.In this series?
I honestly think he's improved with regards to strike rotation. He's a batsman who needs time which he doesn't and won't get in T20s.
Tests he might still work and ODIs, just maybe we can hope one last time, only because we have no orher realistic alternatives.
I think he will average 35+ with a SR of around 80 this series provided he gets the full series. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't, though.
By the end of the year.
He's a limited batsman whose restricted to his zones, anything not there in his zone and he's at sea.
He averages 20 away from home as a test match opener and he hasn't even stepped out of Asia.
