Ahmed Shehzad should replace Azhar Ali as ODI opener

Mediocre knock in the last game on a good pitch and fails today too. Had an average t20 series as well. Will get embarrassed in the champions trophy against any decent bowing.

hes batting at the same SR actually lower SR than Azhar was before he was dropped from the team. If Shehzad doesnt step it up. Wouldnt mind Azhar getting a recall.

Well said. Why can't some guys just realize that shehzad is just awful. Had a good PSL last year and we all saw what he did in the world t20. Just not good enough to play against good bowlers. If he gets selected again I gurantee he will fail and I will be the first to bump this thread.

I repeat.... It's a myth that Arthur will improve him. There's nothing to improve. These West Indies conditions with slow and low pitches suit this guy but he is failing here too. He's the only one in the top 5 who hasn't scored at all in the ODI series. Mediocre cricketer

Would like Talat at number 4. If Hafeez goes back to opening, there is a vacancy there. However, Inzi The Revolutionary will not pick him any time soon. Should have a big PSL next year and take it from there. Will be in the starting XI for IU.

He has a chance to show some performance in List A Cup and get selected.

Talat opened with Sharjeel for quite sometime in domestics, Also smashed a 140odd with 7-8sixes.

I'm not sure about Saad Ali in middle irder as haven't seen him bat but is amongst the runs. For opening I don't see us going anywhere with Kami Akmal and Shezzy.

Well neither he nor Akmal have justified their selections.

Both either get out too early, or consume too many deliveries and then throw it all away.

Shehzad is better off trying the Test squad. He obviously hasn't improved his SR, even the way he played in the PSL.

Time too look for someone other than Shehzad, Akmals, Asad, and Azhar.

Shehzad has shown no improvement or whatsoever. He should be in the test squad only and that too as a reserve opener.
