Secondary question, would Ajay Jadeja get into the modern-era ODI team's middle order?

Ifti Is not considered as good mo batsmen by pak supporters itself.Raina is far better than jadeja and he is a clutch player for the tough moments. Jadeja is a blacksheep and should never be compared

Suresh Raina's 36 Vs Pakistan in the 2011 WC Semi FInal is a very under rated and under-appreciated inning. He batted with the tail and took India from 205-6 (Dhoni go out) to respectable 260-9.

If India had collapsed after MSD's wicket, Pakistan would have had a much lower target to chase.

high time to create a vetting process before people with dubious intentions create random threads comparing players.

Raina was a great player. He was a tremendous lower order batsman.

But Ifti is the one who's name resonates from continent to continent.

Asia'a Goat odi number 4 is Yuvraj
If we're really talking about lower middle order ODI batters/finishers in Asia. I'd have the following bunch from memory

Yuvraj
Dhoni
Shahid Afridi
Ranatunga
Raina
Shakib

Couple of other names - Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Ajay Jadeja

Raina was clutch player, that's his biggest advantage. In T20s, he was even better, never afraid of playing big shots. He had short ball weakness and flopped badly in Tests. But quality white ball player undoubtedly.

Ajay Jadeja vs Suresh Raina vs Shreyas Iyer would have been better comparison.

All three middle order batsman but probably weakest batsman compared to the other star studded batting lineup.

Raina for sure. There is no comparison between these 3. Raina is way ahead of the others here. Clutch player. IFFI on the other hand is a broker clutch of a car type player that will go no where.

Whats Afridi doing there lol.

Raina wins this hands down.

He is a good middle order batter who stepped up when his team needed him

No better proof than 2011 world cup , when he played 2 match winning knocks vs Aus and Pak back to back.

His career avg was only 35 in ODIs but in World Cup it is near to 60.

Don Bradman vs Graeme Pollock vs Shadab Khan. Who is the best of these 3 renowned batsmen?

People can say whatever but Chacha has a better ODI batting average and SR than the other two, making him a statistically superior batsman, allegedly.

Clearly someone who may not be consistent but is a match winner on his day as proven against NZ.

Whether one wants a consistent yet mediocre batsman or an inconsistent yet match winner batsman is a personal choice.

He’s called Chacha in reliable affectionately because he’s reliable like that.

I also like chacha. under-rated all rounder. He will retire as an enigma. So much potential. Among the 24 innings he has played in ODIs he was dismissed for single digit only 6 times. Also 1/3 of the innings he remained not out. Incredible achievement. Also 8th highest individual score against Nepal in history of Nepal cricket.
