This may seem a stupid qiestion but are anti scuff sheets good for your bat? I know they protect the wood from the outside, but my local sports dealer told me that they infact make the wood sweat and are bad for the internal wood of a cricket bat. Is this the case? Also, if you do apply one, how does this affect the oiling process?
Thanks

to me, they definitely are good! if i were you! i wouldn't have believed in your local sports dealer who told you that! and by the way, if you apply an anti-scuff sheet, there's lesser need of oiling the bat because ac sheet provides some moisture to the bat!

If you have a scuff then you dont have to oil the face. You just oil the back and side of the bat.Other than that I don't see any harm in having the scuff

Scuff Sheets are good for bats IMO......Many pros use it too so I think it won't be bad for your bat....

IT is good keeps your bat together and protects it. Wood doesn't sweat...

How long should these last on a bat? approx.
and any good source for buying these on the net, as well as thicker grips for CA bat.

you can get thicker grips from any cricketing store and scuff sheets can be applied on the bat until they're torn up or either you become bored having a look at the same sheet all the time, lolz.....
these are also available on almost every cricketing store...

thanks sarmad! but I need to order them off the internet. So do you have any reliable sources with worldwide shipping? I did put on a sheet that I received with the bat, however it was crappy quality 2 week of use and its starting to rip off.

Yes, listen to your "sports dealer"

Not every single bat maker who use scuff sheets......

Hopefully the dealer will go out of business and stop spreading lies.

There are a lot of bad sheets out there though.

The ones that dont hold onto the bat (poor glue) or disintegrate into pieces coz the quality of sheet itself is poor.
